Good deal on ic chips, however a few of the ic chips have internal shorts per multi-meter testing.

I am new to all this, but finding my LED strips getting weird after extending the wires, it highlighted a flaw in my original setup. My mcu boards (Teensy and Arduino nano IOT) work on 3.3v logic pins, but most(?) LED strips like 5v. While it worked in my initial development, extending the wires caused too much drop. This chip seems identical to what you get on Adafruit, but with free shipping and a good discount. So its got the performance to drive my fast LED animations and at a good price with fast shipping - what's not to love?Basically you VCC with 5v+, GND to 5v-. Then I connected 1OE to GND, 1A to the mcu board, 1Y to the LED strip. Since I have two wires for the strip I did the same on 2OE/A/Y. After this I connected my LED strip to the long extension and all my problems went away. Since I seem to keep picking up 3.3v boards I figured a 10 pack would be perfect.

i used these to tri state spi miso lines on devices that do not tri state and they work fine.

I'm using these as a 4 channel 3.3v logic to 5v logic buffer for running RGB LED's from an ESP32 or ESP8266. They are perfect for this application. Specifically, I use WLED as the OS for a fairly elaborate Christmas light installation around my house and these buffers allow the ESP MCU's to reliably drive the pixels. A single 4 channel buffer can handle all of the outputs from an ESP32 so they are well matched.If you are here searching for how to control your Christmas or other LED based addressable lights, these are the right chips to choose.
