I purchaced this without realizeing it was twice as heavy as the unit it was replacing. Well the needle was appearently sheared off when I played an older record that had not been cleaned. My mistake was not readjusting the counter balance weight which may have helped avoid this.One might also argue thats todays styluses are very fragile compared to the robust needles I used in the 60s and 70s. Otherwise the sound was fine.
