Almost a perfect kata weapon. Solid wood handle, slight flare at the end of the handle and the unsharpened blade if securely affixed to the handle. The only con, to this product, is the point of the blade is not rounded off at all. It's not sharp, but you could possibly inflict some injury with a stabbing motion with the tip of the blade. For adults and teens, this would be fine, but I would hesitate to recommend this particular model to younger students.

I practice karate and intended to use these for forms (kata) and kobudo training. I noticed the blade shifting on one and when I looked at the top I saw it was cracked. I cannot use these as it is unsafe to do so.It's a shame considering I really liked the feel of these and they seemed a bit more traditional in style.

When I received the kamas there was a problem, it was only one kama. The packaging was torn open and it was missing a kama and there wasn't a packing list. The one I did receive did not look like the photo. It had a different color finish and appeared to be a different type of wood also.
