Didn't particularly attract deer, but I did get some awesome turnips from it

The deer are there every day, twice a day. The only prep I did was to spray Roundup before the application. I mowed the high weeds down that came back and that was that. Planning on expanding the area.

Very good growing product. You can throw and grow but you should turn the ground a little.

I was looking for a food plot material for Whitetail Deer that could be planted in an area with minimal sun exposure and this looked like one of the few that might stand a chance. I disregarded the instructions on the package about PH testing and fertilizing. I only had a small area to plant (10ftx15ft). I highly recommend (what I did not do) is to spray your area with a vegetation killer or something like Round Up 2x-3x over 2-3 months before planting to clear out the area.I raked the area with a garden rake to remove any leaves and debris, and scratched up the top 2 inches or so of soil. I used about 1-2 cups of seed over this area in a small plastic Scott's spreader (a whole bag will do a 1/4 acre!). After I spread it, I flipped the rake over to the smooth side and gently went over the plot to help ensure good seed to soil contact. I then mixed up a batch of regular Miracle Gro and sprayed it over the plot.2 weeks later I have about 4 inches of Rye Grass popping up! Keep in mind - it needs SOME sunlight to grow anything. The package says something like 4-6 hours a day but my area wouldn't even come close to getting that. What came up was not very thick, but it is better than what I thought was going to come up - which was nothing! I'm going to upload 2 pictures - one of the plot in general, and one up close. These pics were taken 2 weeks after planting. I shot the area with another batch of miracle grow again and will check it in 2 more weeks.

Hand spread on sandy soil with a lot of bare spots. At least 1/2 day of sun in each area. Received rain the second and third weeks and shoots were up. Very noticeable growth now; bright green while native grasses are brown. Deer and hogs began checking the growth in the third week. Deer are grazing in afternoons with no noticeable slowdown in the plant growth.

Mixed with several other products to "spice up" a winter plot of wheat & oats. Proper (for local soil) prep was done as initial plot was put in by local farmer and this was added to it. About 30% germination when planted just before good soaking rain & in accordance with directions. Poor showing.
