This thread chaser is commonly used for head bolt holes in GM LS style aluminum engine blocks. I expected the tool to be longer, but it's the same length as an ordinary tap, just under 3-1/2 inches long. Aside from that, it seems to be a quality tool and will use it anyway. Hopefully I can bottom it out with a tap driver attached.

I tried using this on my wheel hub, and it didn't go in smoothly, even with brake cleaner and a degreaser. Thread chasers are not supposed to get caught. I compared it to another one to see if it was a problem with the threads in the hub, but the others didn't have the same problem. This could be a manufacturing tolerance issue.

You'll need to extend it so it can reach down into the bore. Had to weld an extension to lengthen it. Take your time, let the chaser do the work, don't force it.
