This is a good read even for a mid-career woman. I was reminded to take a clear look at my financial history and planning for my next steps. Everyone is into the side hustle right now, and this book helps introduce me to why we all need one and what I might do for mine. I enjoyed the introductions to each expert and what they contributed to the through line that you can start from anywhere and take control of your money.

Book was a little worn, but certainly acceptable. I've been counseling my niece for 3 months, once a month meeting, on setting up a budget & managing her money. She just turned 50, getting divorced after 26 yrs & truly knows nothing about her money. Loved this book, it has lots of great advice, and a lot of what I've covered with her.

This book was great. Very easy to read, visually stunning and had just about all the information that any struggling young woman would need to get her financial home in order. I loved the way the chapters were mapped out and that the book explained the importance money from so many angles. The downloadable content is great to explore as well! The only thing I wish it had more of was more explanation on investing and what the right kind of investing can do for you. Other than that, highly recommend!

In my opinion, this book was not as much about finance as it sounded. I got the most useful information from the first chapters because they were actually about budgeting and investing (although I felt like even those topics were mostly skimmed over). From there the rest of the book was just frills about cooking, decorating and clothes (???) which I wasn't expecting. Yes, there was always the slightest finance-spin on these topics, but nothing further than "try to DIY furniture rehabs" or "know recipes where you can freeze the leftovers for later".The illustrations were cute and the writing style was relatable, but for a seemingly finance-based book, it was disappointing.

Sometimes, as you watch a movie, read a book, or have a conversation with someone, you realize that the information or ideas being presented to you are going to change your life. Not because what they're saying is completely foreign to you, but because it's something that you've had a vague impression or scattered understanding of, and now it's been presented to you in a way that makes complete and utter sense. Frank, fun, kind, and clear, this book provides philosophies, information, and directions to other potential resources to take control of your finances and every area of your life which money influences (hint: ALL of it). Unlike a few other "help" books which I've gotten over the last couple of years which I read once and immediately donated, this book will be staying on my shelf to be consulted and re-read in years to come. When I say that I'll probably buy a dozen or so copies of this book over the next few years, it's not because I'm horrible and lose everything. It's because I want every other young (and in some cases, not so young) person in my life to have access to this valuable resource.

I decided to try the book after loving the YouTube channel videos.I absolutely have no regrets, the book is a great starting point for anyone who feels inadequate or unprepared for finance decisions.I love the tone of voice in the book - simple, straightforward language style, feels more like a discussion than theory or teaching.I adore the layout and design - this keeps my constantly distracted mind at bay and makes the pages of great info easy to digest and engaging.Overall a nice, easy starting place for your financial journey with no scoldings or feelings of embarassment, just open, honest info.

I have loved The Financial Diet for some time now and am thrilled that they've released their first book! Not to judge a book by its cover but I'm going to go ahead and do that, this book is gorgeous. Leave it on your coffee table and let your friends flip through it when they're over. I purchased the ebook version and my boyfriend purchased the print version and I found myself just stealing the print version from him because it's so pretty.Now onto the insides, as the Author's Note says in the front, "This book is intended solely as a source of inspiration and information for readers who wish to take charge of creating a healthier financial future for themselves." This book is the perfect stepping stone for people who know that money is important, but aren't sure how to make it work for them. There isn't a lot of specified advice because the book isn't a financial advisor, it's an inspiration. You'll close the back cover and want to explore more into the world of finance and you'll want to build a budget, no doubt about that.I particularly loved the section about money and relationships because money can still be exceptionally uncomfortable to talk open and honestly about and that section will make that difficulty much easier to tackle.I would seriously recommend this for a high school graduate to get them off on the right foot and for them to know that they aren't alone when it comes to money stresses. It'd also be great for those who are older, but are still unsure of how to handle their financial selves. It's all about personal inspiration, rather than hard and fast financial rules so do bear that in mind before diving in. Now stop reading this and get yourself a copy.
