Quality Nutrition for Tropical Fish

Tetra has been revolutionizing and improving fish nutrition since the company’s birth in Germany in 1951. Since that time, Tetra has developed one of the most comprehensive bodies of fish food knowledge in the world. A full team of biologists, chemists, and nutritionists continually study and discover what keeps fish thriving and living long, healthy lives.

TetraMin Tropical Flakes

Tetra’s original Tropical Fish diet, TetraMin Tropical Flakes is nutritionally balanced for optimum fish health. This formula is packed with patented ProCare that offers precise doses of select vitamins and nutrients to support immune system health, Biotin to help maintain metabolism, and Omega-3 fatty acids to provide energy and growth. TetraMin Tropical Flakes are scientifically developed to be easily digested and feature color enhancers that bring out the bright colors of your tropical fish.

Clean, Clear Water

Tetra formulas feature micro milled, exotic, high-protein fish meal as a core ingredient—making them pure and digestible with fewer colorants. This leads to less waste and a cleaner, clearer aquarium.

World Class Menu for Every Fish Type

Tetra understands that every fish is unique. For this reason, they have created a full menu of food to help meet the needs of every fish; from bottom feeders to top-feeders and small Bettas to Large Cichlids.

Flakes: Flakes make up the most popular type of fish food. Tetra flakes are formulated to keep water clean and clear and include ProCare for added health benefits.

Crisps: Tetra crisps float longer and create less waste. Crisps are ideal for small and medium-sized fish.

Granules: Bite-sized morsels sink slowly to reach all fish in your aquarium, including mid-water feeders.

Tablets: Tablets are complete, balanced nutrition that sink quickly for all bottom-feeding fish such as catfish and loaches.

Algae Wafers: Large, sinking wafers are perfect for veggie loving bottom feeders like piecostomus catfish.

Sticks: Complete and balanced sticks provide hearty nutrition to larger fish such as Oscars, Cichlids, and marine fish.

Pellets: This floating food is ideal for mid to large sized fish like Cichlids and Goldfish. Tiny pellets are available for Bettas.

Gel Foods: Innovative Grazing Blocks are great for long periods away from home. Gel Foods strive to feed fish the way they would eat in nature.

Supplements/Treats: Great in conjunction with Tetra’s Primary diets, these foods provide healthy variety for fish.

I have purchased this for many years. Recently I bought pond fish flakes from Walmart which were cheaper but it turned out to be like sawdust in a can. These large flakes are perfect for my fish

So, the store was out of the XL flake food and came to Amazon. The ad's heading says the container is $6.50 for the 5.65 ounces; however, the product description say the container is 8.6 ounces. I wasn't sure which it was but needed the food either way, and the price was comparable to the store's price for 5.65 ounces. When I went to place my order. the Seller requires two to be purchased for free shipping. So, I ordered two. Well, I received them today and the bottles are 8.6 ounces each. This bottle is bigger than anything I have ever seen. It's the size of a large beer can. Two bottles will last me months, maybe a year. I opened one container and the flakes are bigger than the flakes in the 5.65 ounce bottle I usually get. Win, win, win on size, price, and flake size. I would definitely buy again, but won't need to for quite some time. Amazing bargain.

Lets face it, dried flakes are not the best tasting snack for our watery friends. I wouldn't want to eat flakes everyday! Nevertheless, after many years of Tetramin, my fish are still going strong so it's A-okay fish grub. Although my tank is populated with small fish, I prefer large flakes because they cloud the water less than small flakes. Still, even a light feeding makes a bit of a mess. With that said, some other brands are worse in this regard so I'm sticking with Tetramin.I store this large container of Tetramin in the freezer to extend freshness and transfer enough for a week or so to a small container. The Amazon price of this product regularly goes up and down by a few dollars but is usually 30% to 50% less than local prices. With free shipping and no tax it's hard to beat Amazon short of a really really good sale at your local PetMart.
