This product is outstanding, the cheaper pumps I've tried may cause harm.TeraPump was a fun experience when I called. The directions had me totally confused, and the customer service must have just gotten off a cannabis break cuz he was more in the dark than I was.Own my own again, having just gotten off my cannabis break, I finally figured it out. All you have to do is clean it, turn the attachment counter clockwise until the attachment goes up to the bottom of ti spout plate. Place it on the bottle and turn clockwise until you get to the blue line, then its securely connected very well, great design made from quality materials. Problem is, the casing is blue, and the line the same color blue embossed a fraction of a millimeter. You can't see the line, it would be great if the pencil thick line were a different color than the background. Say, Red? So I had to use a flashlight.Functionally superior to those cheap $9 pumps. Another thing, the cheap pumps have internal metal parts that rust and form mold contaminating your water. This pump was well worth $40. Awesome Design and made of durable materials.

We have it for a few years now and it's working well. We will never buy the cheap camping crap again.

I bought a crown top 5 gallon water bottle (recycle symbol No. 1) and the pump doesn't fit and just spins loosely on top. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. It does not fit all crown top bottles as stated.

It works well. Has a set of tubes that can be adjusted to fit different bottles. Quiet, fast, does not need charging.

This is way better than lifting a 5 gallon water bottle (we don't have room for/nor do we want a water cooler). Life hack.

This is my review for the TeraPump.Outline:1. size2. fit3. tubes4. Instruction booklet4a. followed cleaning instructions4b. no indicator visible5. cleaning brush6. pumping7. pumping cont.8. color of pump9. closing1. I recently received the TeraPump in the mail. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was that the water pump was much bigger than I had imagined. My 5 gallon water bottle is roughly 1ft and 5-6 inches tall. The TeraPump appears to be just over one foot tall. Combined, this pump extends above the height of my table, so I can no longer put the water bottle under the table as I had expected, unfortunately. If you want to store your water bottles in a compact place, keep in mind the extra height the TeraPump adds. I would imagine that any other pump would be much the same however, so I don’t fault the TeraPump for this flaw.2. I first ordered the Dolphin pump by mistake, not realizing it did not fit the AmericanMaid 53mm opening (its gasket was too wide to enclose the opening and create a pressurized seal, which is how these pumps work). The TeraPump does fit the opening perfectly and appears to be holding up well so far (I have used it rigorously for about one month).3. The TeraPump comes with four tubes of different sizes with which to pump the water. By assembling the tubes in the right configuration, you can fit the pump in a variety of different sized bottles. Using the two largest tubes (large and lower-supply-tube), The tubes are slightly longer than necessary to fit a 5 gallon bottle. The center joint piece allows it to fit by bending it and pushing the tube to the outer end of the bottle, presumably to pump more water before needing to refill.3a. I noticed there was a small bit of plastic excess on one of the tubes (pictured). I was able to simply scratch this off. This kind of thing is common with plastics as far as I know and should not pose any problems if you remember to follow instructions and clean the pieces.4. The pump comes with a short instruction booklet which lists the parts included (mine had two joints. I guess for even larger bottles). The instructions also say to clean all the parts with a “mild detergent”. I used dish soap. Do not submerge the pump section, wipe that off with a cloth. Some smearing of color did occur around the logo (pictured), but it was barely noticeable.4a. The instructions refer to an “indicated stop line” to help make sure you don’t over tighten the fastener, but after having a good look at the unit, I can’t find this indicator at all. If yours does not have one or you can’t find it, just be careful screwing the pump (think snug, but not tight) and you’ll probably be fine.5. The TeraPump also comes with a cleaning brush. This brush consists of a long, brightly colored stick with a small piece of foam inserted within it. It looks a bit like a bubble wand!5a. You’re supposed to use this to clean inside all the tubes and openings periodically, but something about it seems a little lacking. I can’t imagine this little foam piece would hold up for too long. It might be best to simply find another (soft) cleaning brush or use a soft pipe cleaner.6. Screwing the TeraPump onto the water bottle was pretty straightforward. As long as the pump is in line with the neck of the bottle, it should go on easily. I felt it was best to hold the body of the pump with one hand, while tightening the base on with the other. Id say it requires only a light to moderate amount of force to fasten. Taking it off for refilling is even easier, about as much as opening a new soda bottle. Either way, its certainly no jar of pickles!7. When I first started pumping, I was pleasantly surprised to see a little bit of water come out on the very first pump. You will notice more water flowing out of the spigot with each pump. The more air is pumped through, the more water comes out. It only took me about three to four pumps to fill a drinking glass while the bottle was mostly full, and around six or seven to fill the same glass when the water level in the bottle was low. The pump is easy to push down and quick to spring back up. The pumping action is not strenuous. Filling a larger container with water does not take too much longer. The key to getting a good water flow is to keep up the pumping, not pausing in between pumps, or pumping fast. Be careful though, too much pumping and you will spill some of the water because the water flow won’t stop until the pressure in the bottle is equalized.8. The color scheme of the TeraPump was aesthetically pleasing. The TeraPump is a light shade of a very pretty pastel fuchsia or magenta, which contrasts well with the white color in between the pump button and the spigot/fastener.9. Overall, the TeraPump is a wonderful little device which will save you the electrical and maintenence costs of using a traditional water cooler. It could reclaim the counter space lost from having to pour your water into some other large receptacle. And It saves you the effort of having to constantly lift heavy bottles for pouring drinking water manually. For all these reasons I think the TeraPump is a worthwhile purchase which should quench anyone’s thirst for years to come.(No, really. Free bubble wand included :)see pics (sorry about quality)

My wife asked me to find another solution to placing 5 gallon bottles up on top of the water dispenser we purchased from Arrowhead. I went online and searched "bottled water dispensers" both on Google and Amazon and studies the offerings, then I read the reviews; Not too encouraging! Being a dentist who has maintained his office facility for forty years, I know something about water pumps. I was not impressed with the designs and complexity of some of these systems; plumbing, electrical and space requirements. I wanted something simple and reliable. When I spotted the TeraPump I knew this was what I was looking for; simple design (KISS), no batteries, no electrical hookup, inexpensive, reliable if well made.It arrived a half hour ago and it works PERFECTFULLY, here's why. The very large pump body moves 4 oz per stroke and the large return spring cycles rapidly so you can pump continuously and fill a quart container in less than 8 seconds, ( One tenth the time it takes our gravity drained dispenser) due to the very low resistance in the smooth bore 1/2" tubes. This is due to the design which uses the water bottle as a pressure chamber and the pump just pumps air into the bottle displacing the water up through the delivery tube, and once pressure is accumulated the water just flows. It's easy to overflow a container if you pump too long as there is no shut off.It took only minutes to assemble, just select the correct tubing lengths for the size of the bottle. It will reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle so it leaves only a few ounces in an otherwise empty container. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to attach the pump assembly correctly to the bottle. The directions are accurate, but not apparent to someone who has never done it. Place the pump assembly into the top of the bottle, depress the pump and hold assemble down on the bottle with one hand, then rotate the cap counter-clockwise until it is raised up to the bottom of the pump body, then while holding downward seating force, turn the collar clock-wise and downward until the stop ring is visible on the inside tube. That's itI can't comment on its durability, but build quality is excellent! I expect it to work for years and at this price who cares if it doesn't.I just ordered another one for our earthquake kit. I can think of many other practical uses for this product
