Falls off metal surfaces with the slightest pressure. Others work well but not this one. Can't even hold my test probes. See the picture.

If and when you mistakenly have a little weight on your gun or not precisely careful, you will have a problem. Heaven help you if the cup is full. Magnet is so so.

The magnet is impressively strong and it sticks well to the inside of my booth. I use it for storage of my guns when they are not in use. To be fair, I don't use it when my air hose is attached, but they are definitely strong enough to hold my gun full of paint. If you're reasonable with your expectations of this product, it works great. 10lbs is pretty conservative in terms of what I've found it capable of holding. It is a serious PIA if you want to try to move it. It works WAY BETTER than other holders I've used.

So, I purchase this for another use........I have a metal 2 horse front load with the small tack area underneath and very limited space. It only had 2 welded on hooks for bridles, leads, halters and such, I needed more hooks! So I decided this looked like a great compromise to having more welded in, or having hooks with screws. Magnet is heavy duty and the hook extends out enough for me to put several items on it with no worry of it slipping. Very pleased with the way this worked out. And on the plus side, I can move it around if need be. What a great find! Plan on ordering a couple more.
