If you don’t want to kill somebody but put a hurting on them , then these are the gun to use. However with a full c2o cartridge and shooting them in the temple l believe it would kill them. The plastic balls come out with pretty good force up to 20 yards or so. I have never shot a pepper ball yet but l think they burst on impact . Just don’t let who you are shooting get close enough to take it away from you . Less than lethal means it won’t it won’t kill them just put bruises where ever you hit them. I bought one for my 19 year old;d granddaughter until she gets 21 then she can carry a deadly weapon.

First one leaked bad, sent it back. Replacement showed up 4 days later. I think it is an ok value for the price. However, Trigger pull is horrible. Magazine holds 6 rounds, I was testing with aluminum round ball weighing 42 grains. I was getting 20 shots per co2 charge on a 60 degree day and low humidity. Chronograph read 332fps for the first 4 rounds, then went down to 220fps on the last shot. (Packaging claims 485fps, this is a 153fps difference) I shot 50 rounds over the chronograph, each session had same results. Grouping was about 6” at 20’. Had a few times the trigger would not reset, a smack along the side helped. For a less than lethal deterrent , I would not rely on this, I think the Umerex .68 revolver is a more reliable option. There are less than lethal 12 guage shotgun rounds that are a good solution for home defense that deliver a lot more ‘deterrent’.

biggest drawback is theres no safety and no mag, so you cant buy extra magazines and it only loads 6 rounds, but really you only get 12 good shots per co2 cartridge anyway so not a huge dealstopping power and penetration really depends on the rounds used (metal vs rubber vs powder) but it seems about the same as the more expensive options. Packs a really loud punch as well, enough to seem like a real firearm to a disoriented intruder. Can store co2 and has a strike mechanism to only puncture the cartridge when needed. Plus, its fun to shoot!NO SAFETY SWITCH - if you get the orange model it looks like a toy, which can be good or bad depending on how you intend to use this thing, just dont leave it around kids if you get the orange model

It seems sturdy but I’d prefer a good old fashioned safety switch.

The weight is ok, sounds like a .22lr, is effective against most people and pest. The sights are a little low and the grip is not the most comfortable, however this product is outstanding.Note this only holds 4 roundsGreat choice for self defense, only downside being that for "compact" it is still pushing a full size figure.Update: shot myself in the face with pepper balls and just to see if it works and yes it does but its about a medium in terms of spice.
