Inexpensive but well worth it, a great addition to my Celt garb

Like many swords and knives in this range of price and quality, this Celtic sword suffers from the standard flimsy tang consisting of a threaded rod tack-welded to a minimal flat extension of the blade. The haft is too long and, I suspect, for many users, too thick. The "Celtic" components of the hilt are as basic as you get. The sheath is, I think, actually maybe leather, but treated in such a way as to feel more like plastic than I care for. The blade, itself, is fine in profile, but at 1/8" it's too thin by half to accurately replicate swords built for the historically primary purpose of converting other persons into wolfhound kibble.None of this can fairly be taken as serious criticism, considering the sword's price point, and, in a far less quantifiable sense, the simple fact that it makes a recognizable and actually, overall, successful stab (pun intended) at a historical style of weapon quite different from the myriad variations of viking, crusader, Norman, etc swords. And -- most of the flaws inherent to its being an economical display piece (on the wall or in the sheath, at most events) can pretty easily be improved and modded to a higher level of authenticity. View the $40-$50 product as a project, and it's actually quite a good bargain. Case in point -- by choice and necessity, both, I'm very picky about how I spend my money, but IIRC I've purchased either seven or eight of this exact sword, and what I turn them into and sell is much, much better than what I described in my first paragraph, without more than at most a couple afternoons at my workbench.Packaging is adequate, and the tracking info tends to be hit-and-miss, along with what I consider too many days of items simply sitting at their point of origin, prior to being turned over to whichever shipper facilitates the delivery process. The sword, itself, though, is well-worth purchasing, and a major component of a good way to get started in historical (or fantasy) events, without overdoing it on cash outlay.

This little sword is extremely solid and attractive for the price. The pieces fit together nicely and there is no rattle. The metal finishes are smooth and even and the black wooden handle is lovely. The blade is pointed but the edges are not sharp but rather fully squared off. For extra safety, I opted to round the edges off with a bit of work using a sharpener and whet stone. The blade took this work just fine. Historically, it is a worthy modern re-interpretation of the Celtic "anthropomorphic" hilt style sword such as the one from about 60 BC in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Well made but blunt and the handle is loose and the pomal is loose

light, cheap, a little dented, but overall the best wall hanger i've seen.

As a prop/display/LARPing sword, it's fantastic. Good weight with a nice handle, and the blade came in excellent condition. The width of the blade isn't too thin in comparison to the length. My only critique would be the sheath. While it does the job and is sturdy and fits the sword perfectly, the clasp that holds the handle flush to the sheath tends to pop.Other than that, 10/10

It was smaller than I was expecting, which is actually a good thing because it turned out to be THE perfect size. It's very lightweight and looks awesome. A really good sword for the price, I am very happy with it!Update* So, don't swing it as hard as you would swing a sword, it can break really easy. For the $40 or whatever we paid, I would buy again. If it was $100, I could have bought better quality locally.

I was feeling the need, the need to buy a sword. I went online and bought one, it's not sharp. The hilt is not amazing, but it'll be a cool wall piece for a man cave!
