The tones produced with this reed were mellow and full. It takes a minute to warm up with them. I don’t think I need a better mouthpiece.

I've used Syos Arcane Saxophone Reeds for tenor and alto sax and found them to be above average quality, but not quite up to the premium level. These soprano reeds fall into the same bracket. They're manufactured in France by Rigotti, a well-known reed maker, for Syos, a French company that makes an array of 3D printed mouthpieces. The reeds are unfiled and each comes in a plastic case, but are not individually sealed. I'm just getting started on soprano so these reeds should serve me well.

My husband tried one of these soprano saxophone reeds and says they're very good. He sounds the same with these as with his usual brand. The cat still doesn't care to hear him play.

I tried out my first SYOS mouthpiece a couple of years ago and now have 3 of their mouthpieces! Given the success I decided to give their reeds a try. They do not disappoint.SYOS is a brand based out of France - the reeds are apparently made there as well. The quality of the reeds is quite excellent. I've tried 3 of them so far and all of them are playable and feel identical. I have no problems playing up and down the range on my Yanagisawa curved soprano.Just note that it took me a few tries to get the right reed strength. I ordered #2 reeds from Amazon, but I was shipped a box that had a white sticker label on the outside that said 2.0 reeds, but the actual had a little round sticker that said 3.5. I wrote Amazon for support and they sent out another box. It also had the 2.0 label on the outside, but this time the little round sticker said 4.0.I reached out to SYOS and they helped me out. It took a few tries, but I finally got my hands on 2.0 reeds. Excellent customer service from SYOS.

The wood on these reeds seem unreasonably thin compared to the other 3.0 versions I have tried. It is so thin one some of the reeds, you can almost see through it in places. Also, the reeds have very strange black spots that are inside the wood. It almost looks like mold, which made us stop using it after the initial testing. The spotting may be normal, gut it was very off-putting for us and it is something to be aware of when ordering.

My husband used to perform for the Portuguese Philharmonic when he was younger. He decided to dust off the ol' Sax so we picked up these reeds for review. The single plastic cases for each reed was a nice touch. It's cut well, and has no weird taste. He reported lots of control, and good tone. He also said, "make sure to keep it plenty moistened".

I normally use Rico 2.5s and wanted to try 3.0. These reeds come in their own plastic holders. The cane looks good upon inspection and aren’t sanded. Four of the five played well right out the package with just a little soaking in water. They sound just like the Ricos with a nice sound.
