I’ve gone through a number of suture kits during my time as a medical student. However, this kit was my most recent purchase, and it was a great learning tool! It comes with artificial blood to more closely resemble real-life lacerations. I can finally practice suturing at home knowing I’ll be prepared for suturing in the hospital!

I got this to learn a new skill. I hope I never have to put it to use again. I like learning new things all the time and I thought it would be fun to try this out also. The kit has everything you need to get started. There was a point in my life when I did not have insurance and I had a large cut on my leg, I was standing inside the bathtub with a normal sewing needle and large pliers, forcing the needle to go through my skin to close the cut. With a kit like this it would have been easy to close the cut. What I did in the bathtub at the time was surviving was not learning, well I did learn one thing, sewing needles are just terrible for using on a wound. It takes a crazy amount of force to push them through the skin. Anyways it is nice to play with a kit like this and remember back on some hard times along the way.

This is a very cool kit! 😃It comes exactly as described and will provide your little pre-med student (or your kid who is curious about the Doctor Life) hours of entertaining practice. 🩹 Go ahead and make your mistakes here, kiddo! The skin has a life-like texture, the implements are very high quality and realistic. 🏥✂️ There are three layers making up the patch of skin: one representing "skin", one representing "fat", and one representing "muscle." (Don't stitch the skin to the muscle! 🚫😆)There is even fake blood that has a dark "not Hollywood" color. 🩸 You pour the blood into the simulated wounds before applying the stitches. Because as the movie warns us: "There Will Be Blood." 🎬💉The kit has 20 different suturing threads made up of four different types of threads/filaments, and the wounds have varying shapes and thicknesses for you to practice on. ✨ And of course it's very reusable. If you use up the filaments they provide you can use your own that you pocket from work, ha ha.Unless they're sedated, I’m not sure you’ll ever have a patient that is so willing to sit quietly while you do their stitches. 😂 So for realism, you might need a cohort acting out the part of the person with bad judgment in the ER who won't stop talking and won't stop moving. 🤦♀️ That’s my role! Always willing to help a student in need! 😆👏Have fun with this—you can’t hurt anyone, you can only get better. 💪💉If this isn’t fun for you, then maybe the medical field isn’t your ball of wax 🕯️—and this $28 kit can save you $125,000 in medical school tuition! 🤣💰 Kidding/not kidding.Hope you enjoy! 😁🩺

Got this so my daughter and I could practice suturing. The practice media is fairly dense and flesh like. The sutures and needles are in individual packets. The kit comes with forceps and tweezers and is great for practicing. you can also cut the sutures out when you are done and use the kit again. This is a great item for upping your first aid skill level.

I'm in vet school and this is exactly what I needed. It's on par with what we use in class and comes with everything I need. Highly recommend.

I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the kit. Everything arrived neatly packed. The tools have their own case with a plastic flap so the tools do not rub or scratch each other in transit. The demo pad is sufficient for practicing the basics. The colors help indicate the different layers of the dermis so you know where to place different kinds of stitches. The sample of sutures is also nice so you can get a feel for each of them as they move. The scalpel is somewhat unnecessary unless you want to make your own cuts in the pad. It can be used to remove sutures, but the scissors are a better tool for removal. The scalpel handle also looks like a different quality from the tools. It fits the blades fine, but it was tough to get them on. Most handles can slide a blade on with finger pressure on the blade’s wrapping to maintain a sterile blade. This required the use of the hemostat. Once on the handle, the blades had very little to no wiggle at all. That is perfect for delicate work — it will stay where you work and be consistent. That said, I would have preferred a sharps container as well as a scalpel to help reinforce proper sharps disposal practices. And prevent accidental pokes or cuts once done.Overall, it is a great kit and I look forward to practicing with it more. It always helps to build new skills through practice!

Tried this kit today, and it’s one of the most realistic suture practice sets I’ve used. The simulated blood adds a whole new level of challenge, making it feel much closer to real-world conditions. The pad itself is durable, with distinct skin, fat, and muscle layers, so it holds up well to multiple uses. The included tools are solid—not just cheap throw-ins—and the variety of sutures lets you practice different techniques. Everything is neatly organized in a carrying case, making it easy to store and take on the go. If you're a medical student, EMT, or just looking to sharpen your skills, this kit is a fantastic hands-on training tool.
