I'm sure this would work fine. The associated picture on Amazon shows a plastic piece snapped onto the battery hold down which exactly matches that on my 2016 Subaru Forester. In the kit I received that plastic piece was missing and may have been eliminated as a cost savings. The part numbers of these items match the Subaru part (as they should since they are genuine Subaru parts). Still leaves questions. Not sure what the plastic piece's function would be, however...The online Subaru parts catalog and this picture indicates it's part of the hold down.

The only thing you might want, in order to make installation a little quicker and easier, is deep well sockets. I think it was a 10mm. Although, it's been around 2 months since I installed it, so I'm not positive that was the size. Either way, you'll want a set of deep sockets unless you are going to cut the threaded end of the "J hook" shorter. Otherwise, you'll be turning the nut half turns for quite some time.

Before and after photos! This kit is cheap enough and simple enough to install that there's no reason to keep a crusty and corroded old battery clamp uglying up your Subaru's engine bay.I replaced the red positive side battery connector cover while I was at it. Part number 81611AG011 .
