Swapped the original factory battery door with this in seconds and now my old Stinger LED has two switches for easier use depending on how I am holding it. It's good to have options.

My wife's Streamlight didn't have the end button. Replaced it with this tail cap, now it does.

For the money, I think this is highly recommended if you have the Stinger DS flashlight. Makes using the flashlight easier, and more ergonomic. Not necessary if you are comfortable using the front switch, but for me, the way I hold the flashlight, I find the tailcap switch more ergonomic.

I have an older Stinger LED HL, with only the top button switch. I took a chance & bought this tail switch to have both. Threads fit and now have both a tail & top-of-cylinder on/off/strobe switch. The unit functions as it did before, but with an improvement.A tactically significant improvement. With a $20 upgrade, I didn't have to buy a new flashlight.

Use it on my Stinger HP. Gives full function from either switch. Works Fantastic and gives you a backup if the main stitch should ever have an issue. Recommended.

As I was trained to use a thumbcap flashlite I was happy to see this device, and read a review that it would work with older Stinger models. It did not work for me and I tried it on multiple lights. Too bad. Had to return it.

I bought an early model Stinger LED back in 2006 before they had C4 LEDs and DS models. After a change in assignment I switched to a Strion, but now I'm back to needing a full-size duty light, but really wanted the tailcap. I ordered this and it did not work at first, because my Stinger LED model was too old. But after looking around, found that Streamlight offered a C4 LED upgrade. I called Streamlight and they said that upgrading the LED to the C4 should add support for a tail switch, since the only remaining component of the light is the metal cylinder. So I ordered the C4 upgrade, put it all together and it works like a charm. I have a brighter, 350 lumen light and a perfectly functioning trail switch. Cheaper than buying a whole new light. Couldn't be happier. My only complaint is that the product description does not list that this switch will only work with Stingers LEDs serial number #034389 or later, though it does say so on the package.

The Streamlight Stringer is a fine flashlight, or torch as they say across the pond. The original switch on the model I have is located up near the head assembly rather than on the rear, as with most other hand-held lights I'm used to. The beam on the Stinger is amazing and works well as a weapon light. However, the switch was in an awkward place. Also, accustomed to the rear switch, it was odd to have the switching up front. So, I took advantage of Streamlight's option for a few more bucks. The tail switch is well made, machined to the same finish as the Stinger, and fits like it came with it. It has the Streamlight logo on the rubber switch and a rubber O ring under the cap. Two switches adds redundancy and ease of operation. I would have preferred the switch was OEM'd at the rear in the first place, but now that I have this tail cap I understand why they didn't. With the stinger HD's rather hefty weight and length, holding it at the rear with one hand while triggering the cap with the thumb does put a tad bit of torque on the wrist - no big deal, mind you, but it can be felt.A good addition to a fabulous light.
