These stands seem to be of decent construction. A little on the light side but doesn't seem to affect the stands ability to stay in one spot on concrete. I am currently using them for my 16" and 18" crashes while I wait for boom stands and are performing exceedingly well for the application. If I need more straight stands in the future I will be buying more of these ones and would definitely recommend buying.

I did not want to spend a lot of money for a couple stands and the purpose I have for them. I settled on these because of the price and what I saw in the pictures of them. You do get what you pay for. In this case a little more, I'd say. The chrome plating is adequate. The tubing, while wider than most stands in this price range is not as thick as stands having larger tubing from major companies. Bear that in mind if you intend to use any clamps for other instruments mounted on the stand. That said the tripod is wide enough to accommodate larger cymbals easily. The tilter actually has smaller teeth than most tilters. Some may see that as a liability but, others will see it as a positive for allowing more angles for your cymbal placement. The tilter comes with three felts. The tilter has no cup of any kind, just a small washer. There is no way a larger, heavier cymbal should be placed on a felt just sitting on that tiny washer. That is really unacceptable. Any number of possible cymbal cup attachments or just larger washers could be added to this with no extra expense or price change. The threaded plastic sleeve performs the task of being a sleeve and also the wing nut to hold the cymbal down. My only other negative would be the T-bolts used for tightening. The tripod T-bolt is pretty small and you wouldn't want to be using this as a gigging stand which has to break down and set up a lot. It could easily be overtightened and stripped. The mechanism at the pipe division does have a nylon sleeve, which is nice but, again, the T-bolt and the housing would not stand up to a lot of set ups, break downs and set ups over and over. Something will strip out.All in all I can live with the Cons, as the Pros make this a decent deal. I have plenty of parts lying around so I can deal with the cymbal cup issue. If nothing else I'd get a fender washer at the hardware store for a few cents. They came fast, on time, too. I'll give it 4 stars because of it's price. I'd give it 5 if they had a decent cymbal cup on it and better T-bolts, U-clip, and tube mechanism. The stand wouldn't sell for the same price though. I would not pay any more for it.

I purchased this cymbal stand for my fiancé, a professional drummer for 17+ years. We recently purchased a Gorgeous pre-owned drum kit from a seller on Craig's list, and the only thing that was not included in the kit was a cymbal stand for the VERY heavy 22" ride. I read the other reviews before making this purchase, and quite a few people commented that their stand slid all over the place, but decided to purchase anyway because we didn't believe that it would slide when properly set up, and we were right! With 17+ years as a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal drummer, my fiancé set this up as he always sets up, with carpet as a base. When the tripod base it properly spread, there is no slipping...and he has it holding the heaviest 22" inch Sabian Ride cymbal that he has ever owned. He's owned 24's and 26's, but this is heavier than most of those larger sized Rides.Great purchase, Great price, No Problem.Tip: When you set up on carpet, Expose the spikes in the bass pedal and Bass drum too, Just pull back on the rubber bottoms, and you'll find the spikes. Even though the cymbal stands have only the rubber bottoms, and no spikes, they are fully stabilized on carpet. Don't hesitate to buy...you won't be disappointed!
