Have many mechanical Starrtte tools that work flawlessly but their digital tools have reliability issues. This tool is fixed on a surface plate and gets used 2 or 3 times a week. Today it started displaying a ERR04 message. Nothing in the manual and nothing on Starrette's web site. Bit of looking on line and this seems to be a common issue across the board with their entire digital line. Apparently it is an "electronic" issue. The cost to repair is close to the cost of the tool and since there are many complaints about reoccurrences, it will be replaced with something else.
