Amazon.com

The Stanley 100-Foot FatMax Chalk Line Reel features a water-resistant, high-impact ABS case with rubber grips, making it both extremely durable and easy to hold. The 3:1 gear ratio gives you a rewind that's 3 times faster, while the chalk line has twice the tensile strength of traditional lines and lasts twice as long. A convenient locking button holds the string in place. This reel holds one 4-ounce bottle of Stanley Chalk, and an easy-to-access screw cap simplifies the chalk refilling. The reel also features a long-wearing felt gasket that hugs the line and distributes chalk coating evenly. A stainless-steel universal hook withstands heavy use, and the crank handle folds neatly into case for storage and transit.

Can you say pos? I can, because that's what this chaulk line is. I dropped it off of a one story roof and the handle broke off. What happened to the fat max quality? They left that out completely

I've always been a fan of the Stanley FatMax line of tools. Yes, they're usually a bit heavier than many other comparable tools, but they also tend to take a little more abuse. Not always, I'm sure, but in my case, I've not ever had any real problems with the FatMax line. That said, this chalk line is awesome. Yeah, it's a little bigger than most, but it's a 100', supposed to hold 4oz chalk (I max it a 2.5-3), is pretty heavy duty and the reel function is better than any Irwin I've used. Not to name drop, I own a lot of Irwin tools. Having the ability to unscrew the cap to fill rather than use the slide on the side is another plus. All in all, 10 out of 10.

I have been using this chalkline for a couple weeks now and have had no problems so far. The string and hook are heavy-duty and feel like they will last a long time. The box is easy to fill (you can fill it two ways), there is a clear plastic sliding window or you can unscrew the top, and it holds plenty of chalk. I also like that the hook "locks down" on the side of the box, cuz I know I hate it when I reach inside my toolbag or belt and the chalkline is hooked to something. The only thing that I would gripe about (and it's minor) is that it is kinda hard to wind it back up, sometimes I feel like I'm going to break the cranker because it is so hard to turn, but once it gets going it seems fine. All in all I think it's a pretty good chalkbox and would recommend it.
