Works great little expensive. Shifting is smother, originally installed Shimano shifter the free hub and cassette are SRAM.

Installed on a bike that had broken grip shift. It worked great. Good deal.

I bought my kids new bikes for their seventh birthday which made them very happy, but the OEM shifter (Shimano Acera M360 Rapidfire SL) just wasn't right for them and decreased their enjoyment of their new bikes.I observed them seeking the downshift lever, taking their eyes off the road to locate it, momentarily losing control of the bike, getting frustrated and giving up entirely on shifting - preferring to just muscle (or spin) through on the wrong gear. I'm a very particular rider and I empathized with their dissatisfaction.I'd had prior experience with SRAM Grip Shift and I consider them a superior and simpler solution for certain scenarios.I did some research and came away satisfied that these would be compatible with the OEM derailleur (Shimano Altus M310).These were very easy to install and, fortunately, the derailleur didn't require significant adjustment afterwards. Rear derailleurs are, IMO, better left to professionals (just my personal opinion), and I would normally completely avoid low tier components like the Altus line. That said, I wanted them back on the road quickly and this product got us there. I think the whole job - both bikes - took me an hour at most.Upon trying out the new components I immediately noticed a higher degree of happiness in my children as they rode. My daughter took right to the super clear shifting concept while my son loves that it looks like a motorcycle throttle. They are making more of an effort to get through the gears to understand what they do and to find the right gear for the terrain. This made everybody happy and I strongly recommend similar modifications for most, if not all, young riders.

I don’t know what sheerness is supposed to mean with regards to a shifter. When I hear ‘sheerness’ I’m reminded of panty hose.Anyhoo....Yes, it is easy to install. I know this because I’ve installed one before. I didn’t get to install this one since it came at least SIX WEEKS after I ordered it. I had to order some other shifter from some other place to fix his bike.

I’ve purchased two other MRX shifters for older bicycles. They work fine. They install easily. Slip the hand grip and the old shifter off and slip the MRX on and tighten it. It comes with a shifter wire installed so you just thread it through the existing housing. Attach it to the derailleur and go to adjusting. If you need to replace a shifter wire this has been made easy. You just scoot the old wire backwards out of the hole in the shifter and then thread the new wire in through the shifter and the housing (which you can leave on the bike) and attach to the derailleur. For the price this shifter is a steal. I recommend it.

Recieved it on time and installed it on my diy recumbent bicycle in a few minutes .For the moment it works fine but in month I will road test it and see how it stands up to a real bicycle .

I just installed this today on my Mongoose Stat 4.2 to replace the cheap Concord that came with it. Once I got the cable length right along with my L and H adjusters it indexed perfectly with my Shimano /Altus rear derailleur. I don't know how long this is going to last but I hope that makes it until I replace that /Altus with a SRAM X4 and I'll match it with a X4 shifter.

Very simple to install. However, if you have a recumbent or a tandem, you'll have to buy an additional cable and install the cable at the same time as the shifter. If you're going to install one of these, I'd recommend watching a YouTube video on the install. It's simple, but there are a couple of tricks that will help you.Works very well.
