Shifts gears very well with a very notchy precise feel. Upgrading from Rival 10 speed shifters, and I can feel the improvement in shifting. The right shifter is very precise - the feel on shifting to harder gears is very positive. Shifting to easier gears on the rear requires less effort than the rival shifters. The left shifter requires significantly less effort when shifting to the big chainring then the Rival shifter. The brake levers provide more leverage, so less effort is required to generate braking force. I should have upgraded my bike to 11 long ago!

Its a SRAM product, what more can I say. Doubletap is so nice to use compared to the shifting system of Ultegra 6800, which IMHO is crap!In fact i replaced my entire drive train with SRAM Red 22 front and rear derailleur as well as the Ultegra tin plate crank with the SRAM Red 22 Exogram crank. Love, love love how quiet and smooth the shifting is now.

Fantastic shifters that are one down from the range topping SRAM Red. Not that much heavier than Red but with all the same technology. They have much more adjustability in fitting and position than Shimano shifters.

Be very aware that despite the page saying set, the pictures showing that there are two of them, there is only one shifter included in this. Thankfully amazon is great and let me send it right back for an actual set.

This grouppo is absolutely fantastic. If you are a SRAM fan, and like how they shift, you can't go wrong with the Force 22.I replaced my entire SRAM Rival grouppo with the Force 22 and the difference is significant. The shifters require considerably less effort than the Rival grouppo, and shifting is spot on and accurate. On my Rival, on rear upshifts (smaller to larger), I would have to be careful or I'd jump multiple gears quite easily. This was mainly due to the amount of pressure required for the shift. I no longer have that problem which these shifters because they require less pressure to shift with. However, if desired you can still press the shifter hard over and jump multiple gears in one shift. The front derailleur shifts are equally improved and there is no trim (see front derailleur review) because the chain guide yaws when changing from the small to large sprocket (the same system as SRAM Red). Front shifting is much easier with the Force 22 as well. At first I was jamming the shifter in front upshifts (small to big ring), but all that is required is an easy push to the click point. The yaw in the front derailleur works great and I get no chain rub even when completely cross-chained.The hoods are very comfortable and roll back easily and completely when taping the bars. Adjusting the reach is no longer relegated to rotating a teeny hidden knob. With the Force 22, reach is adjusted with an Allen key. The range of reach adjustment is large. I'd estimate it is at least 15-20mm. The reach adjustment is also independent for both the shifter and brake lever. The shifters come with a thin black 1.1mm shifter cable that is already attached. This coated black wire is stiff, and very slippery in the sheathing. It cuts well (using Park cable cutters anyway) and does not fray easily. The brake cables are the standard variety at 1.5mm and are also included. The kit also includes nice inline cable tensioners, sheathing, ferrules, and end caps (the same branded kind found in the SRAM cable set). For reference I have ridden my road bikes with Shimano 105, Shimano Ultegra, and SRAM Rival grouppos. I ride road bikes about 300-400 miles a month. When comparing the Force to the Ultegra, it is purely a matter of taste. The Ultegra is silky smooth and shifts very easily, but it is not as precise and I often miss gears, or climb too many gears, on upshifts. The Force is comparatively harder to shift, and is 'ratchety'. The shifts are akin to 'clicking' into gear but, it is very precise in doing so.One major difference is in how you shift with these levers. The Ultegra uses the the brake lever for upshifts and the shift tab lever for downshifts (like many other shifters). The SRAM Double-Tap system uses only the shift tab lever. One press inward shifts down one gear (bigger to smaller), like on the Shimano. Press further to the first click, and you shift up one gear. Press even further, and you shift up multiple gears. Personally, I find the shifting to be very crisp and defined, and it works better for me when climbing when the chain is under tension. If you are considering one or the other, I strongly recommend that you test drive them both before making a decision. If your Rival grouppo is wearing out, this is a fantastic upgrade. The grouppo basically has the same features as SRAM Red, but is slightly heavier. Compared to the Ultegra, it is a lighter grouppo.Adjusting this grouppo is more difficult than with the Ultegra. It is fairly picky and 1/4-1/2 turn of tension can make a difference between a perfect front chain setup, and dropping a chain off the big ring. In the rear, it is just as picky with a 1/4-1/2 turn being the difference between a noisy cassette and perfect shifting. Once setup however, it does not creep out of adjustment and the shifting is superb. Quite often, I can't even hear the shift it is so smooth (front and rear).Note that this grouppo is not going to work well with 10-speed drive-lines so you will also need to switch out the rear derailleur, chain, and cassette. You can get a 10 speed cassette to work, but it doesn't index quite right and you'll have to lock out the limits or risk dropping a chain. Front 10 speed chainrings seem to work okay but I swapped mine out with 10/11 ones that are slightly thinner, and the shifting is spot on.
