These are okay. They are relatively inexpensive and they work but not the greatest. They do not open the split rings as far as you would like. They are built well and comfortable to use just not as much of a split as you would like.

First of all, don't waste your money. These are nothing more than cheep needle nose pliers with one side cut and bent. They don't split the ring like they should and don't grab the ring so you can spin it. I bought these in a pinch because the ones I had grew legs.

These little pliers had no problem opening size 9 and 8 Owner Ultra Wire split rings. Used them to attach assist hooks to my tuna knife jigs and flatfalls. Opens split rings very wide and easier than some other more expensive options.

The tooth and operation of these pliers is very good. I have used them down to 10mm steel flattened rings (shown in photo). The tooth is very strong and easy to get to split the ring to open.I no longer use my alternate pair - I prefer these. I am very happy with this purchase.

Have been using these for a few months to open split rings for charms. Easy to use and seem sturdy.
