I Installed on my 5.2, 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. It definitely added pedal responsiveness, and noticeable increase in torque. I haven't noticed any better MPG, I have put about 1k miles on the truck after installation. I have driven the comparable highway/city miles, and if anything I'm getting a little less MPG. That being said, it is a 25 year old truck, and could probably use some other work. Overall I am happy with the purchase, easy to install, and overall it performs as advertised.

This product is very easy to install and was made really nice... They put this product together very well to make it fit perfect on my car.. Car sounds better runs better Giving me better MPG... it also has better low end power... There is only one thing That bothers me is the air filter seems to make a loud sucking noise when I am driving around town at cruising speed.. When I pushed on the gas harder it is fine And when I let off the gas completely it is fine but when I am just cruising it makes the loud hissing Noise... To me it seems like the air filter might have a thinner spot which makes the Noise when air is getting sucked in... In my opinion is not really a big problem.. I have never put one on before so I'm not sure if that is just how they are on this vehicle.... Anyways I would definitely recommend And purchase again if I need to

You aren't going to notice a massive gain in horsepower or MPG with this product. However, for the price it is great quality and a huge improvement over the stock intake setup on the 2nd gen Dodge trucks. Truck sounds a bit different when you "floor it."

big difference in intake and mpg for sure worth the money only con to this product is the heat shield is kinda weird how you have to put it together does not come as bolt on and go have to bolt the 3 sides of the box together and its all metal which heats up defeating the purpose of a "cai" but paint the tube and box with high temp paint and it actually cools it down and can make it look like a custom look love the way i have mine set up but fairly simple install worth the money for sure very pleased with it on my 1996 ram 1500 5.9 built trans, rebuilt motor, throttle body spacer, cat back 3" to a 2.5" straight pipe with a resonator 4" tip great high range but definatly felt a good increase in low to mid range torque also

At high RPM, you can really hear the engine gulp big air! Huge performance increase and it moved my horsepower band higher at the higher RPM-end. After the swap, I could scratch the tires with an 18 year old motor, worn transmission and with a 3.50 rear-end. For giggles, we rebuilt the motor, tossed a performance-built 46RE transmission behind it and with the street cam, R/T heads, equal-length headers, exhaust and plenum upgrades, this intake still provides more than adequate air for our performance needs. This motor is producing just under 400hp. Be sure to take your time and properly fit the intake enclosure under the hood. The pipe mount is a bit off-canter and the mount for the side of the airbox needs to be bent slightly to fit the hole on the enclosure - not a big deal though.Adding a Spectre Performance 11255 Throttle Body Spacer requires modification of the throttle body itself. Each of the walls on top of the throttle body, around the ports, needs to be ground-off. This includes grinding the house-shaped tab between, forward of the ports. When attaching the 11255 spacer, be sure to reattach the throttle body to the manifold in a criss-cross pattern and only a few pounds at a time. I found the throttle body on mine was already sportin' a cracked ear from the last guy who owned the truck. Anyway... be sure to grind the walls and tab on top of the throttle body, else the hat from the 9931 kit won't fit below the body beneath the wiper cowl.

Great system. no problems installing for me except had to move the light under the hood. other than that went smooth. just dont tighten anything up until its all together. except for the first part which is affixing the air cleaner to the housing. make sure when you do the air cleaner you position the clamp up so you can get to it from the top when you need to clean it. if you get a check engine light on after install just un plug the battery and wait 30 seconds and re plug it in. to reset the air meter sensor. if you did the installation correctly light should go off and you should be all set. I went one step above and sealed with foam and rtv the hood. everywhere I could be getting engine heat is now sealed to make it as true cold air as possible. This coupled with a Diablo Chip i1000 really woke my Beast up.

I purchaced this product and it was delievered as promised with everything included. Installed in about an hour on '99 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2. Since then the onboard computer milage estimates have gone up about 1.5 through 2.5 mpg with same type driving. definatly better throtle response, pick up and power. Should have done this long ago. I would also recomend that if you are going to install one of these that you go to the parts store and buy a can of throtle body cleaner and clean the throtle body while you have it exposed, mine had alot of varnish on it and it only costs about $4.00. Great product, reasonable price!
