With years of brazing, soldering and some welding skills, and this stuff performs exceptionally well, at not acting the way it should.

I didn't really notice a difference between this and my standard solder. but that said it did do the job, I just expected an amazing experience from the rave reviews, but it seemed about the same flow and erethang , but I'm newish to soldering so it may be operator error, so grain of salt.

I have some lithium polymer cells that are impossible to solder with standard rosin core electrical solder. This stuff works like magic, adhering instantly. You only need to use enough to get the solder adhering to the aluminum, and then you can switch back to regular solder. Great product. Thank you!

On occasion, I've needed to attach a wire to an aluminum or stainless steel part. Regular solder doesn’t work, so I thought I would give this product from Essmetuin a try. The product comes as four plastic tubes each containing a 20g coil of 1-mm diameter solder. There’s a hole in the cap that the solder can be pulled through. The vendor claims that this solder will work with almost any metal. For my first test, I tried soldering a light solid core copper wire to the aluminum tab of an emptied beverage can. Initially, I couldn’t get the solder to wet the aluminum surface at all. I tried raising the iron temperature but this didn’t help. I then rubbed the metal surface with fine sandpaper and then it was easy to make the solder joint – see photo. The joint produced was as firm as any other joints I’ve made with other solders on other metals. I haven’t yet tried stainless-steel, but feel that if the solder works with aluminum, it should work with almost any other metal. At $17 for 80g, the price is significantly more than other solders but it will work in situations where regular solder just won’t.

Did you know, that you can make your own flux from violin rosin? But the flux used in this solder, is a special type of flux that will allow you to solder to stuff that is typically difficult to solder to. You can usually solder to the same things with regular flux, if you get it super hot (which may be a problem for various reasons). For the hard-to-solder stuff, like steel (the case of a button cell), I found this didn't work at all. And in my other tests, this did work, but I had to get some things super hot for it to work.Despite the fact, I don't feel it works as well as they advertise, it does work, and does make my job easier. I'm a radio guy, and I've soldered on more PL-256 ("UHF") connectors than you can imagine, and every time I go to solder the shield, I always had to get it super hot to make the solder flow, but with this solder, it breaks the surface tension, and allows the solder to flow in record time. After I get it started, which requires just a touch of solder, I switch over to regular flux core solder to finish it up. I probably spend 30-50% of my normal time, to solder the shields using this solder. For some things, a spot welder is the proper tool to use. A small spot welder can be had for cheap, so consider getting one of those, if you need to work with hard-to-solder metals on a regular basis. Of course, do your due diligence and make sure it really is the right tool for the job. But, if you need to solder, then this special core solder will make the task easier. This is not going to work like magic on hard-to-solder metals, but it will work like magic on those slightly difficult connections, that require more heat/flux than normal. Hard-to-solder metals are not going to be easy no matter which flux you use, but it will be easier with this special core solder. I can recommend this special core solder if you want to make your soldering life easier. I would have given this 5 stars, if I felt their claims were more accurate.

Tried a couple different solders I had around the house to solder up a gas tank supply to lengthen up for a 38 gallon tank install on a Ford truck. It is a common switch to get a larger tank than the 19 that comes in them. Unfortunately no one makes the proper supply and one has to be modified for the 19 gallon tank, and solder does not want to stick to whatever alloy they use on to make them. This finally did the job, and I now have a fuel supply and fuel sensor that will work thru 90% of the fuel supply in the tank. I can live with that. Seems to be good solder, and I have plenty left to use on other projects. Used maybe 1/3 of a tube for the 4 spots I had to solder the pick up tubing to extend, and the 2 spots that I welded up for extending the float
