I am excited to have a chlorine alternative! I have seen this product for a long time at Costco and was on the fence about trying it out. I have been reading many reviews and they all seem pretty positive about this item working to keep the pool clear while not having to spend so much on dangerous chemicals.This item was identical to the one I was thinking of purchasing, however, the price was better, so I opted to try it out.The product came with all I will need to use, and the item seems to be made with quality materials.I can't wait to use it - summer is around the corner and this will be tried out this summer when I open the pool.I will definitely update my review to let you know what I experience with this!

I have a name brand one of these and this one works just as well.-It came in well packaged and in perfect shape.-The instructions are very easy to understand even if you have not used one of these before.-It does a great job at keeping the grime down and reduces the need for chlorine down 20% of what we were using prior to these.-The housing is sturdy and actually a bit more solid feeling than the name brand.-Most of the time it can easily be sprayed off with the hose.So far it is doing a great job.

This ionizer is very easy to put together and get started. I really like that it's solar powered so I can put it in the pool and forget about it. The pool is staying clean, and we've had to use a little less chlorine. It's not a drastic change and chlorine is pretty cheap, so I'm not 100% sold on this ionizer, but it does seem to be working a bit. I don't think any of these floating devices is capable of eliminating the need to add chlorine or other chemicals for good. You're still going to need to add chemicals no matter what. You just have to test it in your pool and decide if there's enough of a difference to make it worthwhile. Because I have it, I will continue using it, but it's not a miracle device.

I was really hopeful that this would work as described. The price of chlorine tablets are very expensive and and something that would save me 85% of that would have been great. Unfortunately the unit I received was faulty and didn't work. I was going to try and get a replacement but there were none in stock and it says they are no longer available. So I am just out of luck.

This is not my first solar pool ionizer, and this one works fine. Concept is simple, and in AZ any extra help to keep the pool from turning green is worth it.The Copper rod is sacrificial, and I was glad to easily find a on Amazon. Having such a kit is important because otherwise you will have to buy an entire new unit every time, which would be such a waste.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now, but I’m not really sure if it’s working. Definitely my pool is not staying clean, I’ve been needing to add chemicals, but I’m not totally sure why. See I started using it in the winter, so it’s possible it just hasn’t been getting enough sun. It’s hard to tell. And since they state that the test strips aren’t the best way to see if it’s working, I don’t have a great way to test it out. The coil is producing debris, so I think that’s a sign that it’s doing something. The instructions were good enough, but not great. I will update this review in the summer when I can be sure it’s getting enough sun. Over all, this is something to think about. We live in a warm and sunny place, but sun patterns do change over the year and our pool gets a lot more shade in the winter months. Also just cloudy and overcast weather from time to time will likely affect this thing.

Since I started using this product on my pool I have had decreased need to use chemicals like chlorine for it. It does work pretty well, with plenty of sun in Florida this is a great alternative to save you some time and money. The copper core is heavy and great quality. Have had no need to use chlorine in about at least 2 weeks now in my pool.
