This is a European standard plastic breaker box with holes drilled into it for the solar leads. The door is not gasketed, so if you leave it facing up in the rain it might have water intrusion. Mounting it vertically or leaving it unmounted and facing down might be better.Also, check the electrical code where you are. Most localities now require a ground-fault interrupter (GFCI or GFI) on the panels. This must be a DC device specific to solar panels, and thus a different one than you'd use on AC devices. I think you can get those on Amazon too.

Given this is the only one of these I've ever handled - my experience is 1; that being said, it isn't hard to tell if something like this is well-made or not - and it most certainly is. It certainly is going to be easy enough to build into the system; it is a DIY - last minute "oh yeah" component. Definitely an affordable piece, all things considered and is modular so as to fit/suit about any set-up one is creating.

Works as expected, and I appreciate the provided hardware and mounting options. This is much more compact than some other high voltage/current DC shutoff options so it's a winning choice for building a system.

This is a nice circuit breaker box to use with solar power. The box is sturdy and the wires enter through watertight connectors. The box is actually a little bigger than I thought it would be but works fine for me. The breaker looks and feels of good quality. The cord connectors are not gasketed to the box. I would use silicone or gasket them to protect against water leakage. The only drawback is that my box did not include the connectors or mounting screws pictured, which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars,

I place this inside my camper to break the load between the solar panels and the charge controller. The solar panels are set temporary when we camp and the cable connects to this breaker when we set it up. Then when all is connected and double checked we flip the breaker, and it starts charging. Box is mounted inside so I am not concerned that it does not have a gasket.

I've been using this for a while now and it seems to work as advertised. I'm not sure why, but RED is ON and Green is OFF. Maybe this is normal, but I find it backwards. Also, one of the connectors is extremely hard to disconnect. I have to use a small screwdriver to pop the connector free. Ideally, you wouldn't want to move this around often, but I am trying to test it out with a couple different solar arrays right now. Overall, it is a very good way to help protect your investment in equipment from surges or overloads.
