Giving it 5 stars for now as it is as advertised. Only used once so far on a 2-3” primarily dry snow. It worked great overall and I was impressed that you can move fast and it keeps up without snow being “pushed” to the sides. It threw the snow just fine. At the end of the driveway where the plows pack snow in it takes a bit more time, back and forth movements etc. but no different than a Toro or other light weight unit. I got through my driveway and 1/2 of my neighbors before I lost charge. I will report back if we end up getting a heavy wet March snow. I hope it holds up as the wheels are plastic, axle is thin metal etc. so we shall see. Tip, lift up the handle a bit to keep the nose down for the best clearing. In my opinion this is the case with most snowblowers. For the price I say pull the trigger. Read the battery instructions! Keep the batteries and charger in your house not the garage. If this thing holds up I will buy another set of batteries as with big storms you will need them or will have to wait for them to charge. Only complaint so far, batteries are a bit hard to remove from the unit, I have good grip strength and still have a bit of a problem. If you have weak grip strength you might reconsider this unit. Best of all it’s quiet so no more worrying about waking up your neighbors.

Last year, this unit worked fine, but this winter, the snow blower was basically pushing the snow, not pulling it in and blowing it out. I could not see what the issue was but I suspected the augur wasn't grabbing the snow; something was possibly worn. I contacted Snow Joe and customer service rep Marvin and I went through the possibities. He was very helpful. Marvin finally decided that the augur was not working properly and, because they didn't have that augur in stock anymore, they would replace my unit. I wasn't expecting this, so really impressed. However, after being passed over to 'product specialists' where they checked my registration and also asked about my issue, I was told "We highly recommend only using the snow blower if the snow is fluffy and not wet." I responded back that I didn't have a problem last year with snow and that I had been told I was to receive warranty replacement. I also told them that in the Amazon reviews, people indicated that it worked well even in 'wet snow.' I then received an email from Joanna Manila from Snow Joe who said 'We will proceed with the one-time courtesy replacement for the whole item. Before doing that, I just want to let you know that your unit 24V-X2-SB18 is currently out of stock due to high demand.' I was told to reach out in 3-4 weeks to follow up. I did that and waited, I reached out again and waited... after reaching out several times, I finally clued in I was being 'ghosted.' I reached out again pointing how I was being treated. I pointed out that Snow Joe had offered me a replacement, I didn't ask for one, I was just trying to figure what was wrong with mine, and again...'ghosted.' Where I live, I have just a handful of weeks left of snow, so almost over. If Snow Joe didn't want to replace the unit, why did they say they would, and instead of ghosting me, just respond to me and indicate that they had changed their mind..or something!! Initially my customer experience was exceptional, but quickly changed to horrible. So NEVER AGAIN.

This is my first snowblower I’ve ever owned. When I first got it, I got it at a reasonable price at the time, and when I received it, it seemed very sturdy yet relatively easy to maneuver..I have a very large driveway, which is really the only thing I need to clear. My realistic options were something like this or one of those extra wide steel “push plow“ type shovels which seem not to exist anymore, but were common when I was a child and a younger man.The first time I used it, we had extremely heavy and wet snow. The results were not encouraging. I almost sent it back. For extremely wet and heavy snow, this is not going to help you very much. Are you able to use it with wet and heavy snow? Yes. Would a push plow type shovel, if you’re strong enough, be more efficient? Yes do you want to be shoveling that kind of snow with a “bend over, pick it up and throw it“ type shovel? Heck no.If you have slightly wet to fluffy snow, this thing works very well. I appreciate the turn handle which changes the direction of the spout to determine where the snow blows. It is about the same width as a large shovel, but still not so wide as a push plow type shovel. I would say that anything from powdery snow through slightly wet snow, this thing is amazing. There may be no good noncommercial options for super wet, heavy snow.So if your plan is to use this and stay on top of snowfall that don’t exceed eight or 10 inches, this thing is awesome. You have to learn the correct technique and go with the correct speed and it pretty effortlessly removes the snow much faster than shoveling and much less backbreaking. If you understand that this is a smaller lower cost non-commercial snow removal machine, you use it properly and at appropriate times with appropriate snow, you’re going to be very very happy. I would buy it again. If you’re expectation is that this thing has the power of a 500 hp engine and will cut through any height or weight of snow, recalibrate your expectations. Nothing is going to help you at even double the price point here.Good machine.

I wanted to review this product once I really use it to clean the snow. The product is easy to assemble and use but main issue is the battery, which last only for 20 to 25 min even after full charge. That does not helpful in snow/cold weather.I am from Kitchene, Canada, we have a snow storm on 12th Jan 2024, I used it to clear snow on next morning but just within 23 min it stopped working since battery died.On the other hand I would say it cleans fine for 20 min and cleans snow very well but battery life is the main issue of this product in my opinion.I would give 3 out of 5 star considering, easy to use, assemble and battery life.Thank you. 👍

I wanted to use this cordless snow thrower a few times before submitting a review. The unit arrived quicker than expected and set up in under 10 minutes - basically just fold open the handle and add the rod for the discharge chute controller. I used the Snow Joe to clear 4-5 cm of very heavy slush with deeper from road plow passing. It did well on the driveway and struggled a bit on the deeper stuff, with chute blocking four times. Not a surprise and easy to clear with the attached tool. Battery lasted just over 20 minutes under hard load. Second snow of the season last night. 9cm to 15cm depending upon where I measured. 25cm range from plow. Again, heavy snow that started as rain. Same result as first time. It did cut out a few times in the deeper heavy snow. Simply pull it back and move forward at a slower pace. Battery lasted 20 minutes.I wasn’t expecting the power of a two stage gas blower and the Snow Joe doesn’t have it. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this Snow Joe unit. I’m looking forward to the usual fluffy snow as the temperature drops and anticipate the unit will be great. I will update my review if there are any surprises. A great little machine for the price.Update: 20cm/8” snowfall with drifting medium to light snow in excess of 30cm/12”. The SB18 did a great job of clearing. Given size of area I need to clear, I will be buying additional batteries now I know how well it works. Photos attached.

This snow blower will be a major relief for your back and arms, and is a must-have. It may not be as powerful as some of the more expensive snow blowers but a little bit of pushing is all that's needed to take care of any snow removal job.For a standard driveway, this snow blower is great. It will handle a foot of snow no problem, even if it's snow from the day before. It comes with two batteries that when fully charged will have enough juice to handle a typical two-car driveway. The one scenario where this snow blower will struggle is when you have to clear the snow pile (those created by plow trucks) at the end of your driveway, which would usually comprise of compacted snow and chunks of ice. Some manual work would be required to soften things up a bit beforehand. The batteries will be fairly drained but still enough to clear most of your driveway. No complaints though, as it's still tremendously better 100% manual shoveling.Other notes:- assembly was really easy- it's very light (you can pick it up with one hand), but surprisingly powerful for its weight- the throw distance is quite good to start and progressively gets shorter, but not to the point that it would be a hindrance

I really love my switch to battery/electric with this machine, but there are a couple caveats people need to understand if they are going to make this switch.First, the pros:- It is light and maneuverable. Even though it isn't self propelled I've had no problem plowing through snow as deep as 8" with this beast. Think of it almost as a powered snow shovel.- It is pretty powerful. While it doesn't throw snow as far as my prior machine, which was gas powered, it does the job nicely.- The batteries swap out very easily.- The led lights on the front light up the area nicely. Now, the caveats. I don't want to call them cons as they are not deal-breakers for me:- Battery life is limited. The set of batteries that come with the blower will last about 20 minutes under normal loads. Get an extra set of batteries (I got the more powerful 5A set) to swap out to ensure you have enough available power to do the job. The reviews on the batteries say they need a different charger. This is not accurate when dealing with this snowblower - I ordered a 2nd charger based on the reviews and then returned it as it was redundant.- Starting the machine is a little bit of a contortion as the starter button is placed awkwardly on the side of the right grip. Not a big deal, but still a nagging inconvenience.- Wet snow will clog in the shoot. They give you a mini shovel to clear clogs, but I would recommend the snow joe spray to help keep the chute clear.- The machine pretty much tops out at 8" - it will bog down if you try to plow through deeper snow. But it is so light that you can attack the deep snow in layers.- Don't bother with the weather cover, it blows off with any wind. If you intend to store it out of the elements, this doesn't apply to you, but those people that plan to keep it outdoors, the cover is basically useless. Tightening the cord around the opening doesn't matter, the cover blows off the machine with even the lightest breeze.I have no regrets with this purchase whatsoever, but I felt that it was important to highlight the challenges for people that might find them more objectionable. If you are getting constant snowfall (1-2' per hour), the machine is more than up for clearing the snow hourly on a single charge and having the backup batteries mean that you never have to wait for the charging to complete before heading back out. As light as this unit is, you can move through the snow as fast as you want and the machine will just clear it out in front of you. If you let the snow pile up before heading outdoors to clear it, keep the 8" target in mind (a little less if the snow is wet & heavy). The included batteries will last about 20 minutes and the 5A batteries will last about 30 minutes.
