These can be used for many purposes. They look to me like spoon rests, but they're rather flat and shallow, and not all that large, which also makes them excellent paint mixing palettes for watercolor, with the flat handle bit making an excellent spot to rest a paintbrush! I think they're far too shallow to use for dipping bowls, though - they're only about a half inch deep.

Really pleased with these little dipping bowls. They feel very sturdy and like they're very good quality. They look great. Could not be happier with these. Really glad I got them!
