Upon receiving this we waited a few days to use. Once we got it turned on we had tone and it seemed to work. We aren't sure if the detector was actually finding satellites, but the tone never change in volume or duration. We got frustrated trying to find the correct satellite for our dish. Ultimately giving up. We don't know if the item worked as indicated in the information provided. If we decide to go back out to find out satellite for our dish I will update the review.

The product came undamaged. Even though I’m a ham radio operator with previous knowledge of setting up C/Ku band satellite systems, I found this product simple, reliable, and easy to use. Using an a simple engineering compass with this product, I was able to find and lock on to Galaxy 19/Ku band in about 10 minutes.

I needed this device to hook up my directv satellite dish at my lake side camper. I could not see or hear my tv turner so I have to use this device to see and hear the tracking signal. I worked very well and took me only minutes to get it tuned in. Great purchase.

I was trying to find a satellite with my more expensive digital meter that has all kinds of bells and whistles such as full video decoding. Hours on the roof and I couldn't find a single satellite. When I got this analog meter for a tenth of the price, it worked immediately. Just by listening to the tone I can find a satellite in a few minutes. Then I can scan it with my digital meter to find out which satellite it is. With a few tries, I can find the desired satellite quickly. If you're going to be installing a satellite, you should definitely get this device.

I have used digital units previously, but this analog unit seems to work better because of the quick response time. Lets you know right away, when you are locked on to satellite with a tone. Easy to fine tune using the knob and the meter. I was able to get the highest strength reading on my dish that I have ever gotten. You don't always have to spend a lot to get a good working tool. I recommend.
