I was hoping this would assist my 4yro but measurements seem to be off for any kid. The shoulder straps are way too wide and when the weight of skis is added it’s impossible to make it work. A chest strap with buckle would improve this design and keep it up.

A minimalist backpack for carrying skis. I purchased it to carry a large handsaw (Silky Katanaboy 650) into the woods for trail work. It seems reasonably well constructed but could use a sternum strap.

This is not easy to put on or take off - if you try to put the skis in the straps before you put it on, they try to fall off, and it gets frustrating. If you put the straps on first, you will need somebody else to help you, as there is no way to reach your gear behind your back at that point. For really long treks to/from the slopes, this could be useful. But I didn't find it worth the aggravation for my purposes.

I purchased this to be able to go from my vehicle to the lift without needing to carry anything in my hands. I have a pretty good tendency to slide in the parking lot, and having my hands free means I can attempt to catch myself. So, I loaded up my skis (168cm) and poles and gave this thing a test run around my neighborhood. I like the offset of the skis to the back as I didn't hit the tails once. I also like how I can get everything snug. However, with my ski jacket on the shoulder straps had a tendency to migrate away from my torso (I used a piece of paracord/550 cord to hold them together). Then I tried to fold the backpack into the pocket. I was able to accomplish this task rather quickly until I got to the zipper. On the zipper there is a pull loop on one side which I somehow put the waist strap through or hooked to, but I had to pull a lot of material out to fish out the pull loop. Once the loop was cleared it was decently easy to close using my knees to hold the sides of the bag and pull the zipper closed.Overall, I can see this carrying unit going with me a lot as I will be traversing from my vehicle to the lift several times this season. Once fold down this easily fits in my hydration backpack.

I enjoy skiing, but I aways find cumbersome to carry skis and poles around, especially when my young ones asked me to carry their skis and poles. This ski carrier proved to be a great solution. The quality of the carrier is good, and I did not find any visible imperfections or loose threads from poor stitching. While it is not perfect, the carrier does the job… just remember to remove as much snow as possible before securing the ski, otherwise, you will have a wet back from the melted snow. The securing of the skis was rather simple using the adjustable straps, and the skis stayed securely against my back. When skiing, I just leave the carrier on me, although there is an option to turn the carrier into a pouch, but I find that process very challenging and awkward especially when the temperature is cold (I had to take my gloves off to convert the carrier into a pouch). Overall, a great skier tool to have for a very reasonable price.

Thing thing is coming in way more useful than i thought it would be! I am not a backcountry skier, but if I was, you bet this would be my go to thing. Getting the skis into the straps was surprisingly easy, just lay them down, line up with the clips, clip in, tighten, and you're good to go! With the way the straps are positioned, the skis end up hanging diagonally, so bonus, they're not hitting the back of my legs. I'm not coordinated enough to try to make this back into a bag, but it is possible to do that. I just end up folding it over a bunch of times and stuffing into my ski jacket pocket, and that works well enough for me. Ski boots are tough enough to walk in as it is, I'm glad to have something to help me with lugging the skis back and forth between the mountain and the parking lot. Recommend!

I'm a newbie skier and going for the first time in over 50 years this weekend. I know I will need all the help I can get, so I ordered this. It is easy to put on and very lightweight. I read other reviews saying that the shoulder straps fall down because there is no chest strap. When I tried it on I saw that the leftover straps from the shoulders are just long enough that I can tie them together across my chest. I really hope this eliminates that problem. I love the fact that you can fold it up into the little pouch and it has a loop to carry it or attach to something else. The little pocket is also great for any small items, like a phone or credit card, that you'd like to keep with you. Looking forward to trying this out at the slopes!

I tried this with my skis and the straps don't hold the skis very well and they slip though. Also while you're walking depending on how long your skis are, they will hit the back of your legs as they did to me.
