This junk is awesome!! It hardened the ceramic wool almost like a solid. I will definitely get it again when I replace my wool.

I bought a cast masters 5kg furnace lined with kaowool but it didn’t come with any rigidizer. I bought 1 quart of simwool rigidizer and it was enough for 3 coats brushed on. It comes as a clear liquid about the consistency of water. I added food coloring to make it easier to see where I painted. For the first coat I took the kaowool out of the furnace and painted all sides of it. It took about 48 hours to dry. Just as described the kaowool became more rigid. It has stood up well to a few metal melting sessions so far. Wear gloves when painting. It didn’t have a smell but I wore a respirator because it contains silica.
