These spools are half the size of what I usually buy, but the color selection is fantastic! The thread runs smoothly through my Viking, Brother, and Janome machines with no breakage or tangling. A great set for adding variety to embroidery projects, though larger spools would be ideal for high-volume stitching.

I should start by saying that I'm brand new to sewing/embroidery. My teen requested a sewing machine for Christmas, so I've been teaching myself how to use the machine. I quickly ran out of the thread and bobbin that came with the machine and had to order thread. After ordering some black and white thread, I decided to order the Simthread 40-Color Polyester Embroidering Machine Thread Kit. I love the variety of colors, and 550 yards per spool is a good amount. I'm happy with the kit so far. I've only used one of the colors so far, but it seems to work fine - at least for a total beginner like me. Recommended.

After reading so many reviews, I took a chance and ordered this thread for my embroidery machine.It does not work! It breaks, tangles, and makes you think your machine is broken.When you test the strength by stretching it a little, it snaps easily.Tried several colors out of the kit and every single one did the same thing.Bought a higher quality verified thread and everything when back to working normal.I do not recommend this thread with embroidery.

Simthread is a great embroidery thread. I used it in my Brother 800 and now my Brother 1700 with no issues. The colors are beautiful and the set comes with some free samples so you can try other items. I highly recommend!
