Sika EMSEAL AST All-Purpose Foam Sealant Tape seals off roofs, windows, and other features so moisture, dust, dirt, and other debris are kept out. The self-adhesive, versatile tape can expand to seal off window and door jambs, gables, hips, and similar features. Or, use it as a gasket in high-compression applications like skylights, utility curbs, lap seams, and base angles. It will conform to any contours and fill gaps to create a tight seal. Apply immediately upon removing from packing, as tape will begin to slowly expand once exposed to environment.

This stuff is really clever. It is pretty easy to work with and is an efficient and effective way to seal up those little gaps. We used it around an in-wall AC unit and to fill some gaps up in our attic. It gets the job done and it quite tough. Be carefully applying because once it’s on, it’s not going anywhere!

This is a good sealant tape for those area that you don't see, like door jams, window insets, or perhaps the bottom of a garage door to help fill any air space. It works well for that kind of thing, however it isn't pretty if you use it in an area that can be seen, like under an opening/closing window or gap area in a doorway. This would work well for metal siding where you want it to expand behind the metal siding and fill gaps so bug can't get into a space.

Try to be sure where you are going to use this before you put it down because I will say up front that if you have to move it you're very likely going to have to deal with a black residue the adhesive leaves behind. I think it's part of the strip itself not coming away because of how strong the adhesive is; on that note it's got a strong hold to it so that's a plus.I recommend watching the video before using this and maybe check the PDF they have listed if you're more of a reader than watcher, but it's best to be clear with exactly how to use it before you stick it down and have to deal with the mess if you move it.I found where I used it I got just over 1" of expansion not quite the 1.5" but close enough. This is handy where the area you are sealing off has just slight variations in the width. I was able to slide this in, get it attached and the foam expanded "up" to fill the gaps. Not that it's only going to expand up, it won't get wider or longer on you so it makes it easier to plan. It's essentially a 5 star product I just will give it 4 because of the residue and cleanup while noting it's also a perk that it holds so well.

Every time we turn on any of our exhaust fans in our house we have extreme drafts around the crawlspace hatch for under our house. I've tried numerous foam sealers with varying results that always seem to miss the mark, this stuff actually worked. It seals all drafts and we don't have any more drafty funky smells now. It was very simple to install/use.

This adhesive foam is good for insulating and filling in small narrow gaps without any special tools. I used this on a window that had such a gap. It was easy to apply & adhered well to the surface. The foam expands somewhat in height to fill the gap, but not in width or length. It looks a bit ugly if you have it in a visable spot. It looks like, well, a cheap black foam gap filler. It's not pretty, but it's useful.

If you're thinking of buying this foam sealant tape, I recommend watching the video on the product page. It shows you several possible uses for this tape. I ordered this to seal around the exhaust pipes that stick out through my roof, such as the one for my hot water heater. I am not having any problems with water leaking in those areas, but I just want to seal them to ensure that no bugs or other critters can get into my home that way, and also to improve the energy efficiency of my home. I am sure I will find other uses for this tape as well. It's a very versatile product. Before you use it for any application, be sure to take a few measurements to ensure that you cut off the exact length that you need.

I got this to help seal around our door to keep the air from getting out and I used some around our air conditioner too. It seems to be sticking good and it’s helped keep it so much cooler in here, I can tell a big difference. This can be used to seal so many things around the house, it seems like good quality and sticks really well. I would definitely purchase again!! Would Recommend!!
