I did not get to use the lens, so I can't tell you how well it performs. When I opened the case that the lens, was in, I took the lens out and inspected it and found that there were scratches and a water spot on the front optics that were permanent they would not clean off. The lens had a lens cover on it but no protective glass filter. I could deal with a few scratches on the housing, but the lens is totally worthless with it being scratched up like it is. NO STARS. Return process was very good five stars.

Noob with a Canon rebel T7. I am happy with the product. Why I got this lens: for the moon. With my current canon lens that goes up to 300mm you can see some of the craters with not too much clarity, a lot of photo enhancement is required to see them. With this lens at 600mm they are clear and you can see more! There is not much photo enhancement needed to see them clearly, you cannot see all the craters due to the lighting but the image is good.It makes you wonder how much clearer the cannon lens would be at more than twice the cost of this one?

It's not even close. The lens has a great dynamic range of photos you could take. Loved the portraits I took with em even though I bought it for wildlife photography.

for a few hundred more you can get better image quality on a 70-200MM Canon USM II, which I have, and with all things equal, the zoomed in image from the Canon was clearer and better color duplication. With that said, if you don't have the money to buy that Canon lens, this Sigma is pretty good if you aren't going to need to zoom all the way in on the picture.

I'm fairly new to photography but I knew I needed a lense that could really reach out for my wildlife photos and space pics. I settled with this lense because of great reviews and I was able to get a refurbished one for $700! I love it but am still learning how to best utilize it. The one draw back, for me, is that it's pretty heavy. Heavy enough that I can't good pics by holding it free hand. Best to use a quality tripod or bipod. It's definitely harder to bring it along on every trip but I tend to leave it in the car when I'm out. You won't be disappointed.

Picture quality is good. The Auto focus works well. I like the distance features on this lens. You just need time and strength to get used to a long lens.

The Sigma lens works very well and it is lighter and smaller than the competitor from Tamron. I have both so I have actual experience with both. The auto focus and image stabilization work very well and the image is very good especially at 600mm.
