The whole purpose of these is to protect your horse from getting the corner of their mouth pinched by joint of the bit. However, the leather on these is very stiff and has sharp and pokey edges at the bit bar hole, which is going to cause pain and constant irritation.I requested a return but this item is not shipped from Amazon. I had paid the original shipping to me but now the seller also wanted me to pay the return cost of the faulty item and no refund without a return. The return shipping was way more than the item itself. So, I'll just donate them. Bit of a bummer but a lesson learned. Even if you are a Prime member, unless you're absolutely certain or familiar with a product that is shipped directly from a seller think twice about buying.
