  • While nothing can compare to real ice, this might be the next best thing to it! Remember, the shooting pad is NOT skateable. If you are looking for a mat that you can practice with skates on, check out Synthetic Ice Tiles at Ace Hockey Store

  • You can use regular hockey puck, green biscuit and hockey training balls. Check out Ace Hockey Store for Wooden Stickhandling Balls.

  • For optimal performance, consider using Ace Hockey Liquid Spray. The lubricant ensures a smoother glide and more realistic feel. To apply, simply clean the pad with a damp cloth, spray evenly, buff with a microfiber cloth, and let it dry completely.

  • Lay the shooting pad with belly up and allow it to sit for 24 hours. Gravity will do its job and it will help it flatten.

Using this pad is an effective way to improve your ice hockey shooting skills. The perfect size to carry around, this durable, lightweight pad replicates the conditions of being on the ice wherever you want, whenever you want. It’s extremely versatile and so easy to assemble. My son has used it regularly for the past 3 months and it has held up well. For the price, this is a great product!

My daughter just joined hockey and needs help with stick skills. This is a nice place to start. It seems unnatural to only practice on a 24x48 spot no matter how you spin it though. It's absolutely better than not having a practice mat and it is nice to have the simulated ice and actually see how they surface it because they also sell the synthetic rink tiles and I am curious about those. Ours was packaged very carefully and came in a huge box that was protected but our ice mat is curved and the curve seems to have a memory. I flip it upside down to try to get the bend out but it seems to return to that position. The other thing we thought it needed was to be made more slippery - and I see now that there are spray products to order for just this thing so I intend to buy some to try to see if that helps. It would be awesome if it came with a little. It seems like ultimately you would want a larger one and these do not leave the option to interlock additional pieces. Perhaps if you start thinking you want more you just go for the whole floor rink. From a novice hockey player - we are glad to have a place to practice and this is pretty cool. Hopefully with more time the bend comes out of ours but has not over 5 days.

As a skater with three decades of experience, I can't help but wish we had a training device like this during my years on the ice. The benefits it could have brought to our technique and performance are immeasurable.YOUR SEASON IS BUILT OFF THE ICE.Especially as speed skaters, we have minimal time on the ice for the season, typically from August to March or April, for luck.Your base is built in the off-season off the ice, and to create more balance and stability, I've practiced all my dryland that I would typically do in shoes in front of the mirror with my skates on or hockey skates. One of the key advantages of this training device is that it helps maintain your balance and the feel of the ice, even when you're not on it. This is crucial for preserving those tiny stabilizer muscles in your hips and ankles, which are essential for isometric training.Depending on the technique, you can use speed skates or hockey skates to create that off effect with skates on.I recommend doing this 3 to 4 days a week in front of the mirror, either during the honor off-season or with more emphasis on the off-season.Also, this thing is enormous, actually humongous.

It never completely flattens out. It comes rolled up and seems to remain that way. It’s a major bummer.

It seems great but I scanned the code to warranty it and it won’t take my order number below the upc scan or Amazon’s order numbers. Not really sure what to do and theres no instructions with it like how to store it etc.

This practice shot pad is great for practicing hockey off the ice at home. My kids love the extra time to practice their shot and even better I don't have to drive anywhere.

This pad is very thin and it is lightweight but those aren't exactly great selling features for this item. Since it's thin, it doesn't really sit flat out of the package. Mine was a little warped when I got it. It works fine for shooting a puck off of it but it's not great for stick handling. Ice hockey and street hockey pucks don't really glide as easy as you would think they would on this pad.
