Shimano Zee crank, product as described. Fast delivery from seller! I’m happy with purchase. Crank came in retail box with all hardware and new bottom bracket.

Great budget downhill or XC crank for the lead of foot. It is a hollow axle, but a solid crank arm. You’re not buying lightweight, you’re buying rugged. I have most of the zee group on my bike, so it was an easy bolt on. It has already proved itself on trail, lasting longer than the last two sets of cranks I had and still going strong. I had switched my old 3x10 over to a 1x and the other cranks I had were lighter and in this same price range, but only lasted one season. This has already gone 2, and I’m keeping them on.

Design of this system seems to be better than the tapered square bottom bracket shaft. Easy to retrofit to the tapered square system. The pinch bolts on the left crank arm are to be torqued to 12 to 14 Nm. One bolt stripped threads at 13.5 Nm. It would be nice if steel inserts were used in the female threads in this area.

This is a perfect balance of form and function at an affordable price. The kit came with everything required for the installation. This is a super strong crank with a fairly low weight especially at this price point. I am completely satisfied.

I needed a one by crankset to replace the old square tapper set. It work really well! Make sure you have the tools to complete the job first.

I installed the Shimano FC-M640 Zee 10 Speed Crankset at the end of February 2020. I’ve ridden my MTB almost every day. The crank arms are 175 mm. The sprocket is 36T, 104mm BCD single speed ring designed for 10 speed drivetrains. The box included a BSA 68/73mm bottom bracket.Initially, I installed the crankset w/the original Shimano 8-speed 11-32T cassette. I rode it like this issue free for a week before I swapped out the chainring for a Fifty-Fifty 104BCD 36T NW Oval chainring. This, I rode issue free for a week as well. I then upgraded to a SunRace MS3 10-speed 11-42T cassette, Shimano Ultegra CN-6701 10-speed Chain, Shimano Deore XT RD-M786 SGS Shadow Plus rear derailleur & have now ridden it almost daily, issue free. The installation was simple. I upgraded from a Shimano square tapered bottom bracket to this Hollowtech II. Removing the old bottom bracket & cleaning in prep for the new bottom bracket was the hardest part of the installation. The improvement was amazing. I knew it would be better, but was surprised how much better. The set did include spacers, but I ordered a couple extra spacers (Shimano FC-M760 Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket Spacers, $6). These can ware & break. I think it’s a good idea to keep a couple extras on hand so if one does break, I won’t miss a ride waiting for the part. For me, this was a solid upgrade, a great crankset, Shimano quality cranks & bottom bracket at a great price (sub $120). If you’re looking for a new economical great performing crankset, the Shimano FC-M640 Zee 10 Speed Crankset may be a great choice.Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful.

This fit my bike perfectly and I was able to convert my old Shimano Derore 3x to a 1x. This came with spacers for crank and spacers for pedals and new bottom bracket. I didn’t need the BB or any of the spacers but saved for future replacement. Overall this is a well made and good looking crankset. Highly recommend.

These fit on a Big Ripper. I was worries at first because I had to use all 3 of the included spacers but it fits great and there are no unusual noises coming from the cranks. They are light, stiff, easy to install, and look great, I purchased them again and put on a different bike and about to grab another set for another bike. I personally love them.

We used these on a ladies BMX pro cruiser and ladies pro xl class bike. This kit includes the BB and (3) 2.5mm shims. You will need to install the shims (2) for the 68mm bottom bracket and adjust the freewheel or cassette gear out 2mm or you get an offset chain line which is noisy, causes chain wear and could cause a chain to derail. You can buy a pack of 1mm spacers on Amazon that work just right. I consider this crank a very good crank, but I would limit the rider weight to 150lbs or so (only for BMX use.) Not that they would break, just to limit flex. However, they flex less then 90% of the cranks out there with no weight limit. These are not quite as beefy as the Saints but are lighter and great for a light rider. I think these are a really under utilized product. Like all Shimano products, they are well built, nicely packaged and look good. I really DON'T like the finish on these, though. It's a dark gray textured paint. They would look even better polished. The finish is powder coat, so it's tough and polishing would take some time. These are an excellent and cost effective alternative over Shimano DXR cranks ($450) for any lighter BMX rider. I would install them and use them for any light rider without a second thought. They are really nice.
