The Deore line are a good range. The XT are generally excellent. The XTR are generally for full on connoisseurs. Pretty happy with this. A lot better than the Alivio I had in there. Eventually I hope to get the XT shifter. Just for a bit more precision. However, with this, I am in no particular hurry to get the XT
