I have spent over 100 hours in the water with this. It's a great portable kayak; very easy and convenient to transport and setup is a breeze. It's relatively stable in the water and generally comfortable. However, the portability means it's compromised in a number of other ways:- The cover introduces quite a bit of drag, so it's very slow and requires considerably more effort to go anywhere.- The separate design is a bit fiddly and drying the two pieces out properly can be a pain.- The included paddle is extremely uncomfortable. It works in a pinch, but I would upgrade this before doing anything else.- The skeg gets bent during transport/storage. It never fully unbends and the kayak has a tendency to track one direction or the other, but never straight. A removable skeg (like on inflatable SUP) would have been nice. With all that said, I really do like this. It's a great option for me, as I cannot store or transport a full sized kayak. I really like that I can throw this in the back of my car and be on the water within 10 minutes of arriving to my destination. I like that it has a storage compartment and a spray cover, and I like that it's comfortable enough to easily spend a day in it fishing.I would recommend this, but only if you're aware of the drawbacks and are okay with them. There are better inflatable kayaks if you don't care as much about portability. There are certainly better "real" kayaks if you don't care about cost, portability, and can handle everything that comes with one. This is in the sweet spot for me where it's fast to set up, very reasonably priced, and extremely portable.

As an inflatable kayak, it works great. I have 4 kayaks and this is my "solo lazy" kayak. It maneuvers fairly easy in the water. Compared to my first kayak, a cheap kayak I bought at a local sporting good store, this inflatable is far better but of course it doesn't compare at all to my much more expensive kayak. I love this kayak for going out on the lake solo but I'm going to list the cons. The seat is uncomfortable, so I stopped using it. Without the seat, it's very comfortable and I usually find a secluded spot and just lay down. The inflatable backrest serves as a great pillow and I'm able to slowly paddle laying down while enjoying the breeze and the birds. (I'm 5'3 and I fit quite well in a lying position.) There is one air valve on the right that I have accidently opened twice and it started deflating. I have since learned to slap some duct tape on it before I head out now. I haven't learned to fold it back up for storage properly but in all fairness, I didn't take the time to learn. I just fold it up and go. It deflates quickly and is easy to clean. The pump works fine but I bought an electric pump so I don't use the pump that it came with it. Now to the the paddle, it's junk. Take it straight to the garbage can where it belongs. There are too many flaws on the paddle to mention. I realize I listed all the cons but I still love this kayak for lazy lake days. It's easy to transport, inflate and deflate. It's convenient. I just throw it in the back and drive. When I'm out on the water, it often feels like I'm on an air mattress and I have been known to fall asleep. It is an inflatable so you have to compare it to other inflatables. I wouldn't use it for more serious kayaking days. It is sturdy though. Once, I got stuck on rocks and I had to get out and drag it across the rocks. Another time, I was kayaking past some fallen trees and I was worried about the branches scraping against the kayak. The kayak stood up just fine, it's very durable.

I liked the idea of an inflatable 1 person Kayak, as I already have a Wolf Armor 2 person kayak. The thought of a backpack conversion appealed to me as well. I looked forward to the integrated back support aided by the internal bladder. It was comfortable to sit against. On my first and only day out,I found my feet were crammed into the front(a narrow tunnel),and I am only 5'10" tall. After 6 hours on the water with a couple of stops,my feet were sore. The floor bladder was not flat, which held sand/mud upon entering the boat, and wasn't as easily cleaned out as a flat floor would have been. The skeg is permanently attached which can be a problem in the shallow water, and it was bent on arrival.Upon stepping back into the kayak 1/2 way through the trip,my foot brushed against the filling valve (which was secured as per directions) on the side,it opened, and I had to deal with a partially filled bladder the rest of my trip(didn't think I had to bring the pump). At the end of the first day of use,I noticed the front right upper stitches on the exterior cover were coming apart, yet I had followed recommended air pressure guidelines upon filling, and am sure I did not make contact with anything which would lead to this issue. I think this kayak is innovative as far as the backpack presentation ,the integrated back support and spray skirt, but it tends to lack the polish and execution my other inflatable kayak gives me.

en general es muy buen kayak, se comporta agil y estable, la lona exterior lo proteje bastante, el remo me parece su unico punto devil, no trae tope de agua y el sistema de ensamble no me parece practico, si lo recomiendo y lo compraria de nuevo.

The Quickpak K5 is a great single person inflatable Kayak that can actually be carried long distances and should be a firm 5 Stars. I've had it on lakes and in the sea, in sunshine wind and rain and it handles really well. But... there is no support for this in the UK. I now have a problem with one of the main bladder valves that will need the bladder replacing and I can't seem to get spares anywhere. I've tried the Europe and the UK distributor and tried to make contact with Coleman in the US, but no-one seems able to help.Another problem is the connectors for the 3 piece paddles. They aren't really up to the job and I have had two snap on me. You can find replacements on amazon, but unfortunately these are not as strong as the originals. Better to buy a good two-piece.Amazon (who sells the product itself) also doesn't seem to have a mechanism to help people in my position either, just 6 months after the sale. If you choose to buy one, they are amazing fun and very capable, but don't expect to be able to get any spares, So if you have a catastrophic failure you could be out of action for a long time, or not recover it at all, unless Amazon starts importing the spares.

I'm not gonna lie, I was skeptical. I'll start with the cons first. Paddle isn't the most comfortable, but it's useable. I ordered a better paddle. Since it's an inflatable, it is extremely buoyant, causing it to sit on top of the water, which doesn't cut through the water the same as a lower sitting hard shell. For longer trips, a hard shell kayak is probably preferred. However, for an inflatable, it cuts though the water very well due to it's shape. Now for the pros-Much better quality build than what I expected. I've had several people stop me and ask me about it. It's quite rigid. I've scraped some barnacle covered rocks and other sketchy stuff and didn't even stress. It's a series of bladders inside a durable outer covering. The bottom of it is thick, really thick. Because it's inflatable it's crazy comfortable. I could paddle all day in it. Actually, I have paddled all day in it. I chose this because I didn't want to use a rack on my new car, nor did I want to go on a long road trip with a kayak on my roof. This kayak actually is easy to set up and break down. Folds up nice and goes in the trunk with plenty of room to spare. I live in Central Florida, and there's all kinds of waterways to explore, both salt water, and fresh. I've been in both, and my kayak is still looking great. I'm happy to say this thing has really impressed me. Hope if you get one, you'll love yours like I love mine.
