The adhesive is horrible but I got around that by using my own FastCap tape to hold it down. I went to make the first cut to clean up the edge of the splinter guard and it just melted it when I cut it. This made for a very uneven edge and horrible cut on my finished part. BTW, the adhesion promoter was an empty bottle of nail polish (on both strips I ordered) I would never recommend buying this to my worst enemy.

Sticks good but doesn't leave a nice clean edge when trimmed.

This splinter guard went on well and stuck extremely well. I cleaned the old tape off with a solvent, dried it then put tape on. Been a couple of weeks and still going strong.

Compared to the genuine Festool strip, this is a bargain, however....The kit comes with several sachet's of "adhesion promoter", this would immediately indicate that the adhesive is inferior, which it is. The sachets were completely dry and the adhesive on the strip can barely fight the natural curve of the strip from when it was packaged.Let's then mention the material itself, whilst it looks and feels "similar" to a genuine strip, it is not. The material is softer and more "plastic", so when you trim the strip with your saw, the strip melts leaving a terrible edge on the guide and gumming up your saw dust port. I had to disassemble my saw to clear out the melted plastic which completely blocked the dust port. All in all, I could not recommend this product, even at this price.Do yourself a favor, buy a roll of proper 3M UHB or VHB tape and just re-use your old, original strip by moving it out a few mm, or buy an original replacement.

Used this to replace my Festool track splinter guard. Worked great, and has stayed in place. Was the exact width required. Only reason for 4 stars, is they could provide more of the glue to attach. I ran out on my second track and used contact cement.

I love the clear tape - much better than the stock FESTOOL tape and a fraction of the cost. Replace this often if you nick the existing tape with the blade.

Put this on multiple Makita tracks. Very happy. Much better than flappy rubber Makita replacement. Haven’t experienced any melting like others claim and I use these tracks multiple times a week in a professional shop setting. Will buy again.

None of these strips has very good adhesive. Clean your guide first, with IPA or similar, and apply slowly with lots of pressure, and it's as or (probably better) than the Festool originals.

The whole purpose of this splinter guard strip is to get a clean crisp cut with your saw so that this strip is a perfect edge to use as a visual guide to line up, and so that the clean edge holds the material down right at the edge of the blade so the material doesn’t chip and splinter. The OE festool strip is a Teflon, therefore doesn’t ball up and melt, ensuring a clean edge. This strip does ball up and melt, so my first deliberate ‘clean cut’, is far from. I wouldn’t trust the edge to be an accurate line to line up with, where as how the original strip was absolutely perfect.Wouldn’t buy again. Wouldn’t recommend. Going to see about starting a return (for this used strip), otherwise it’s going in the trash and being replaced with the material I should have ordered.*note* I ordered this instead of OE because ship time. Won’t make that mistake again.

Went on easy and looks the same as Festool. Time will tell if it will stay on.While trimming the plastic does melt and looks bad. I lightly sanded the trimmed edge and it performs great. Don't know if the Festool product melts while trimming.

I was impressed with the way this installed and stuck on. This is a low-tech product by nature and F**tool charges way too much for their strips of plastic. this is an excellent alternative and the cost will mean that I won't mind replacing one that gets damaged from user error.
