Wiring this in to use to select Shore/Park power or Generator power on our camper. I think it will work ok for a 30 amp service (as it is rated). I do have my reservations about a couple of things though.I would feel better about this unit if it seemed to be a little heavier made. Not saying it seems flimsy, just not heavy-duty in the way it feels to me. I can say that I like that the plate is aluminum and not plastic.I do not know how weather resistant this unit is either. The way it is made, you can not really see if water can get to the switch mechanism via the switch shaft / mounting. The screw terminals are large enough to accept 10 ga wire. However, I would suggest "horse shoe" or "ring" style crimp connectors. I actually prefer them when high current is expected because they offer more surface contact to the terminal. Even if solid wire is used. More surface contact means better potential for current transfer and less chance of overheating due to what could be a bad connection...IMHO.According to the wiring diagram, the LED's are monitoring the output of the switch. Personally, I prefer to have them monitor the input so I know when Shore power is restored. But that is up to you. It is easy to simply change where you attach the input and output (swap them). Or, move the wires from the LED to whatever you want to monitor. When I took it out of the box, the LED's were lose. Possibly from vibration in transit. But my application will indeed include vibration as well. Also, if this will be exposed to weather, I would suggest removing everything from the plate and adding some sealant to each area where water could possibly get inside. Then of course, around the outer perimeter of the plate when mounted to your panel box.Hopefully this will last for years to come. It is impossible to know at this point.Lastly, there are two outputs and two inputs. If you are selecting between two inputs and going to power your camper/boat/etc. The outputs will need to be tied together 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 so that either input, when selected, will apply power to a single load. Otherwise, ex. when Shore is selected, it will only supply power to the output on the Shore side...the same is true of the Generator side. If either are intended to be selected to power the same single device, the outputs will have to be "bridged" to work. There were no instructions included in the unit I received that would indicate that. So they are assuming you will know how to wire this. I think they could have done better with this part for sure.Hope this helps someone.

The switch appears to be good quality and I like the panel with led lights. There are 3 issues that should addressed. First, the power available led lights are wored to the output terminals which means you can't see what is available for input unless you 1st select a source. If you want tonsee what is available you should switch input to output. Second, the reverse polarity is wired to light up when the opposite source is selected and not to show reverse polarity. In other words you get a red light on the source not selected. This is unnecessary since you already have a light for selected source. Additionally this is not an indication of reverse polarity. Reverse polarity could be displayed if you wired the 2nd led to the neutral and ground wire. Unfortunately there are no ground terminals but you could wire input ground and neutral to the reverse polarity led.Third, as noted in another review the switch is wired assuming you want to have input one powering output one and two powering 2. That is not what most people want in a selector switch. Most will want to power multiple outputs simultaneously with selected source. You can jump outputs together to use the switch in this way.
