These drives run hotter even with aggressive cooling at around 110-115 degrees and they are quieter then past generations of this drive. Past generations of this drive ran very much cooler at 85-90 degrees under full load but were slightly louder.The heat with these drives can get burning hot if you are not careful to only run these drives in drive enclosures with fans. Dont ever put one of these drives in a external hot swap hard drive case without active cooling the drive will burn.
