Claims to be able to lift as much as 1.8 tonnes (ie. 2 tons) so should easily handle an average family car. Tried it out first on a chair, where winding became a bit easier once it was jacked up a bit to give some ground clearance. Generally it was easy enough to use in either direction, just have to adjust the handle from time to time to keep it correctly hooked up into the hole. The storage bag is quite narrow, so it was necessary to fully retract the jack in order to fit it inside. It also has a rubber pad for the jacking point so should help prevent damage.
