I bought box of these to remove paint from furniture. The nylon would beat on the paint but wouldn't remove it

I used 600 grit for pine carving and left marks on low speed... so these may be ok for paint stripping, but nothing else, too harsh for more delicate work.

I'd never seen this type of grinding head/wheel before, so thought I'd give it a try. For sure it's not as abrasive as a wire wheel. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's like very stiff scrub brush bristles with a little abrasive on it. I wouldn't use this to strip paint, rust, sand or grind anything. I think you'd be there all day.I'd use these for those times when you don't want spend 10 minutes scrubbing or cleaning something. It's better for removing grime off of a hard surface in my opinion. So maybe you need to clean algae off a birdbath, algae off a brick/stone wall, clean a grill...MAYBE remove flaking paint off wood or thick rust off metal if it's the first pass before using other tools. Or if you plan to use soap or a cleaner with a scrub brush removing something soft on a hard surface, try these instead. I think these are mis-marketed (is that a word?). It has a place in the home, but they're not as useful as I'd thought they'd be.
