I bought this on a whim and am happy but experiencing a lot of learning curves. I think it would have been better if the charcoal trays were adjustable. This design you have to undo 8 wing nuts to adjust the temperature. As you can tell by my photo I started to high. Once the fire is going is NOT the time to make adjustments. The rotisserie spins very fast in my opinion but maybe that’s by design to prevent burning. The skewers are more for a big hunk of meat rather than a loan bird.

Bought this with the intent to roast a suckling pig and a couple of other cuts. Was excited to get the box. I opened it and found a lot of parts and about 3lbs of screws and fastners. Looked for the instructions for assemble and found a parts diagram and a "exploded view" that was about a 3"x4" diagram, and that was it. I used my powers of reason and tried to put the right nuts and bolts in the right places. It was trial and error and I still dont know if I have the correct fasters in the right place. About 2.5hours later I had a usable unit. I used it today for the first time. I found two meat forks that I used and a couple of racks with ubolts on the end that were not very useful. I roasted a boneless Pork Butt about 8lbs, a lamb shoulder roast about 5lbs and 2 whole chickens about 4lbs each. The spit was full and could not hold anything else. With a load of charcoal the heat was difficult to manage. I used foil pans to catch drippings but had to ensure that I left half of the space between the back wall and the pans to ensure that the heat was evenly distributed, as well as moving the charcoal around to even out the spots. Once assembled had to move the motor several times to keep it engaged with the spit.. As the unit rotated the motor drifted out of postition. This required constant monitoring to ensure that the spit kept turning. The charcoal pans deformed during the cooking event due to the gage of the stanless steel used. I got the meal done and it came out well, but not a whole lot of help from the rotisserie. The unit is sitting in the backyard and I will make a decision tomorrow to keep it or return it. From the description I expected a better experience. Would it have hurt to show where the different screws on the thing should go? Could an On/Off switch have been included. I had to unplug/replug the motor to stop the rotation and check temps. Not exactly user friendly with hands covered in basting liqud and marinade.
