I purchased this intake kit with minimal expectations for seeing an increase in performance or fuel economy. The primary benefit to upgrading the intake and filter is for the convenience of being able to completely remove the assembly with minimal effort prior to performing engine work (such as spark plugs or repairing vacuum lines). It was on sale and knowing that Roush has an entire line of licensed OEM upgrade parts for the F-150 make this and easy choice over K&N for this application. This is a very durable and precision engineered intake system. It is specifically designed to fit 2015-16 3.5 EcoBoost applications though it will work on 2017-18 and specific Raptor applications with additional steps to alter and cut away segments of plastic and to install an included bracket. Installation (if you have the discipline to actually read and follow instructions is simple and can be completed in 15-30 minutes.LESSONS LEARNED:1. Follow the instructions and ensure that you are not missing any parts or hardware before you begin.2. You will think that you are missing one of the three rubber couplers and you may start yelling and throwing things or even crying. It is actually flush inside of the largest coupler.3. The intake assembly is designed for fast removal which makes maintenance tasks and engine work much easier and convenient.Unfortunately, within hours after completing the installation my truck (never used for towing or off-road) suffered from an abrupt intake valve failure without warning at exactly 99999 miles after having 0 stored DTC and no history of misfiring. I am in the process of waiting 6-8 months to have the engine rebuilt so I cannot really comment on the performance of this intake.I do not believe the intake was at fault in any way. It’s clearly an issue with Ford.

I have a 2016 Ford F 150 XL 3.5L ecoboost engine. This product absolutely did not fit on my truck, in fact it was manufactured completely different where the clean air intake pips dont even line up and have an extra entry to an engine that is actually meant to fit this product. Its high quality but not made for me.

Overall it’s what I expected. A quality product that was installed with minimal hassle. I may have picked up an increase in fuel economy albeit small. I can hear the turbos whine up better; no perceptible change in exhaust.I good buy.

It gave new life to my truck. even tough is just a month old. The acceleration was drastically improved. Love the sound and it was an easy installation. Too bad my SCT Tuner seems to be defective when I received last week because I had a Dyno test Scheduled after the tune.

Meh. I put this in my 2017 2.7l EcoBoost ford F150 super crew cab. Looks great. Easy install. I can barely notice any "gasp".. And that's only when the hood is open and I'm sticking my face in front of it. When driving, I hear nothing from the front. MAYBE a little turbo whistle more than before. I paired this with a 4" catback system from MBRP https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WKKH6WI was hoping for noticeable performance increase without a tune as Roush seems to actually mention #'s. I notice no difference. In fact, I almost notice a decrease in performance. Not sure if I'm imagining or not. I will say the catback makes a really nice sound if you're looking for that. It has some really nice tones at different rpms... All in all I'm neither here nor there with this intake- really expected more to be honest. My old man has the same truck. He says mine seems a little more throttle responsive than his but, honestly I think the exhaust sound is making him think that. :)

I had high expectations for this intake considering that Roush and Ford go hand in hand. I expected near factory fit and finish but it sadly it isn't close to factory. Maybe it's better for 2015&2016 f150s but if you have a 2017 I think you'll be disappointed. For starters the cold air scoop fits nice and tight in the factory air box, the roush air box opening is much larger than factory so the scoop doesn't fit in it well at all. There is a large gap around the scoop, meaning that hot air is definitely getting in around it.Second is you have to install a bracket for the wiring that clips to the factory air box. Installing the bracket is no big deal but it only takes care of 2 of the clip points. If you look at the wire there is another clip closer to the fender, there is no provision to clip this anywhere so it just hangs there.Lastly and most disappointing is the location of the intake air sensor. The 2017 has a different location closer to the middle of the engine, well instead of changing the design you are provided with a wiring pigtail that extends the wires and you install the sensor in the end of that harness. It all works fine but now there is a wire running under the intake tubes that just hangs there. They really should've provided a way to fatten this or clip it to the intake tube.Maybe I'm being picky but for $400 dollars this intake should be perfect. Didn't notice much in the way of performance, I do think it picked up a bit above 3k rpms. It sounds good though with a nice turbo whistle.

Very easy install, the instructions say one hour install time it takes about 30 minutes with a 1/4" socket set. Improves the sound a little also. I'm averaging 25mpg with a crew cab short box 2016 f150 with the 3.5 Eco engine and 4" exhaust. Very satisfied
