The best all-around mid length soft top surfboard

The Rock-It SHORTBUS is the all around midsized soft top. Easy to ride & small enough that carrying it down the beach and fitting it in your car doesn't become a chore. At the same time, large enough to easily float and surf most people. The SHORTBUS is the classic "funboard" shape!

The Rock-It SHORTBUS is made with quality construction. Three marine wooden stringers are coated with an epoxy nano-coating to resist water absorption, then surrounded with a proprietary EPS foam and a color-fast & UV resistant soft top layer. The soft top has a wide texture and doesn't require wax, although wax will improve grip. The entire board is heat laminated with no harmful dyes, glues, resins or toxins in the production process, and manufactured in a facility that uses collected rainwater.

Why the “Sea Camo” Stripes on the bottom? In 2013 University of Western Australia neurobiologist Nathan Hart & entrepreneur Hamish Jolly conducted research that indicated a zebra striped pattern was a deterrence to sharks & presented their results in a Ted Talk. The patterns disperse the shark’s ability to identify the item, and mimic non-food source items in their environment.

Care Tip: When not in the water, store soft top out of direct sunlight

Nice board for a foam top. I have a few wavestorms boards and there fine but this board is definitely nicer and firmer . The Support is also helpful if you have any issues . I lost a screw and had no problem with getting a new one sent .

After getting comfortable in the shorebreak on an 8’6” epoxy board, I wanted to try a much smaller board that is easier to lug around. This board has delivered. It’s quite floaty so suitable for a beginner. But it’s also not super wide so it’s challenging to stay in the center. I had to relearn how to pop and had to push myself out further to catch bigger shorebreak. After about 8 sessions, I surpassed where I was on the 8’6” and feel that this was an excellent choice for a learning board. On calm days, I’m now playing outside of the shorebreak. It is well made. I prefer to ride with a light wax on it. The pink color is spectacularly pink. I can’t speak to how well it “shreds” but it does turn easily in each direction and seems like it will be easy to ride once I’m better lol. I may never switch to a hard board if softies are made this well. I’m 5’7” and about 150lbs for reference.
