First let me say that I actually completed this "Rocking Unicorn" project and my 2 year old Grand Daughter loves it. That being said, I almost set it on fire several times due to frustration. As others have stated the plans for this are the worst you will ever see. They are very poorly drawn and are very poor photocopies. The lines are not straight and you have to tape everything together. At best it is a very rough outline of the parts you need to build this thing. Nothing fits correctly and everything will have to be modified. I built things from wood all the time and I have to say this should have been simple but was not. At best it will give you the basic outline for the parts and then you will need some previous experience to overcome the flaws in the design. Be forewarned that the center piece of the body and Head does not even come close to matching up with the 2 outside pieces so be prepared to buy some extra wood to remake that part the way it should be. However as stated in the beginning I was able to make my Grand Daughter a cool Rocking Unicorn which she loves but it had very little to do with the quality of the plans I purchased. Also this in not a cheap easy way to go. The wood needed will cost a lot of money then you have to finish it somehow. For me the brown stain and using an old mop for the mane and Tail just looked awful so I designed and cut out my own tail out of wood and consulted an artist friend who advised me that the only way to go for a little girl was Pink and White with Grey socks. So glad I listened to her. So in conclusion, over 200$ for plans, wood, paint, and supplies and more hours that I can account for to complete this thing and I have great tools. Imagine trying it with basic tools. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you really enjoy a challenge.

After all the taping pages together they are not very neat straight lines but look like hand drawn. They look like someone traced them from another set of drawing instead of an actual copy. When all the parts are cut and put together it takes a lot of modifying to look good. The picture shown is not the horse made by the person selling it but from someone else who made it. I give a 3 stars but leaning towards 2. Pattern is not the quality of U-Build.

Don’t waste your money. They could just email it to you so you can print it. They sent copies from a copy machine. So there are several little pictures that have to be put together to cut anything. What a waste.

My husband made this and it sits in my den. The kids love to ride the horse. If you like to work with wood this is for you.

I was expecting a set of ......................nice plans. Instead I recieved plans that look like they were photo copied in some ones basement. It honestly looks like someone took a black sharpy and drew them out - it reminds me of an elderly persons handwriting with the shakes. I am not look forward to .................. taping the 8x11 pieces of paper together to get this project down on wood and started. Just based on what I have seen so far, I wouldnt buy this product again.

I have just finished the rocking horse with a few changes. I built the horse as prop for the Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre in Lorton Va. my wife is the manager there and i get all the hard props to make. When I found the plans for the rocking horse I new it would be just right for the show. It was pretty easy to read all the directions most of the time but a second read was the trick. As a prop an adult would be using it on stage and needed to be strong, these plans fit that need. I increased the size by 25% and went to work.
