These things work great! It would seem that the grits are finer than what are advertised. They don't last real long, but they are not designed to. Given what they are, I'd say they met my expectations.I use them to restore old hand tools. A simple hand plane, depending on the condition, may require anywhere between 2 and 6 of a single grit. Buy more than you think you'll need. If you're not sure what grit you need, you can find "variety" packs where they sell 120, 220, 300, and 400 grit pads 10 or so of each or even larger amounts).

Great for removing rust or paint from metal. I go thru them them fairly quick but they are cheap and you get a bunch of them. Perfect for cleaning off surface finishes on small parts.

I know these aren't expensive but I've bought many other similar ones before and these seem to stop working almost immediately. There is still lots of material left but all of the grit disappears almost right away and it it's just a soft polisher after that.I suppose these are almost all made in the same factory and sold under different brands but I just can't convince myself that these last more than a few seconds each. I keep trying.

Just take it "easy" and these little wonders will do a really fine job. Sometimes I may run these wet with water. This will often "soften" somethings that cause stains, help dissolve dirt and grime. Wear protective eyewear, that sometimes save time too. Try working from different angles, that can help too. I like these black ones, they don't seem to leave "color" like reds & greens seem to do. The it easy, at low speeds they can last a long time. We really like these little buffers.

Buy extra as they do not last long. They work very well - but wear out quickly.

These do wear off quickly but they are still worth their price. I recommend the product.

Used these to put a brushed look on some aluminum. They did exactly what I wanted them to do, but I went through them very fast. Twice as fast as what I normally use. One piece that I can usually do with 8 QD buffing wheels, took 15 of these. By the time I was done, I went through 34 of these wheels. The job normally takes 14 of the Name Brand QD buffing wheels. But I will say that the cost effectiveness of these buffing wheels is definitely worth it coming in at less than one quarter of the cost. Bottom line is the cost is worth the increased number of bit changes.

These little wheels work quite well on corroded aluminum. As other reviewers have noted, they don't last forever, but that's how abrasives work - they wear away as they do their job. In the photo you can see that one wheel did just about one half of this old Honda brake backing plate which had some nasty oxidization. For for the cost, they're very good for moderate corrosion removal and polishing. Will definitely buy again for my next restoration.

Keep in mind, these are "sacrificial" buffing pads. I use them to remove oxidation from 40+ year old motorcycle engines. They work great but do not last long. Do not expect to use one pad to remove oxidation from an entire motorcycle engine. They're cheap so buy a lot. You'll be happy with the results.
