These things are great. They are a little more expensive than the regular piercing valve but they work great. The one size fits all is great and all you need to mount and operate it is wrench. The sealing gasket is replaceable so the tool can be used indefinitely.

I wanted to use this as a semi permanent fix on a window unit to get me through the summer. It very well may hold up but I do not like that I cant put a schraeder valve in it especially for this price. I understand its just meant for a temporary valve to evacuate and such but still. If your planning on keeping this on the system, find one that holds a shcrader valve.

Does it’s job. Considering I was working on a r600a (flammable) I went with this pricey one

I like the handle on the valve stem as opposed to an allen wrench

Worked great to fix an old dehumidifier. New ones are so expensive. This valve has a much better rubber seal than the cheaper valves. It has been running coninuously for several months now w/o a problem (no leak).

My 2012 Keystone RV's air conditioner started freezing up after less than 3 years of being in service, which was extremely annoying (warranty on coleman air is 2 yrs). Of course the RV repair places refused to do anything except to try to sell me a new unit. Installed these and was able to easily add more refrigerant. Sure, that means there's still a very tiny leak somewhere, but since it only holds a total of 1 pound of refrigerant, the 7.5lb bottle of 410a I bought on the bay should last me a number of years. If you don't know how to properly top off your refrigerant, I suggest finding a good shadetree mechanic that knows his stuff or a local air guy that will do it for you at a decent price, but he'll still need a pair of these.

Simple to install and has worked fine so far. Independent piercing valve knob worked great, much more convenient than the Allen head ones. Just hoping that the tapered brass to brass seat holds the charge with a tight seal, as there is no Schrader valve in the connection port.

While servicing a Beverage Air sandwich cooler, I needed to add a small amount of R134 to a sealed system. This adapter worked perfectly for the service, as well as being able to remove it after pinching the lines and closing the puncture off.Quick and easy to use, and reusable? That's the one I want.

These are nice because you don't have to worry about loosing an allen wrench if you need to use these after some time. I do not have extensive use of the item, however. The system I attached mine to is one that must have had a refrigerant leak; I wasn't sure so I wanted to test the pressure before opening the line so that R12 wouldn't leak into the atmosphere without being recovered properly. The thing I like most about this item is that it will work with a range of sizes going down to a size smaller than most piercing valves, with no change of parts. So for that it's a nice design. The reason I'm rating this with 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's a bit on the expensive side, and while waiting for this to arrive I found some piercing valves that I had ordered in the past which are the less expensive type; they worked perfectly and used less space, which is preferable because there often isn't a lot of room to play with. I'm also thinking that the kind that requires a tool to open will be less prone to having an inexperienced person inadvertently open the valve at some point in the future. All in all, this seems to be a fine product, and I would recommend it if it looks like what you're looking for. If you can make due with the less expensive variety, I think that's an option as well.
