This paddle is awesome! It has become a fast favorite.It is sturdy and the grip is quite comfortable. It is well-balanced and medium-weight. It makes a ton of noise even with light impact. Psychologically the strap looks very intense and ominous, but it's not.The loop takes most of the actual impact and stings away. Light and somewhat medium paddling wouldn't be an issue with this.

Perfect size, weight, and we'll made. Used it more than a couple of times and looks like it can be used for at least another 10 to 15 years with no problem.
